YLF NYC gathering: Final call

A lot of people chimed in on Angie's thread!

Right now I would like to get an idea of who is absolutely, positively attending (unless in the case of an unexpected emergency of course), vs. who might be attending but isn't sure yet. So far I have the following listed as definitely going:

I don't want to pressure any of you to give me an answer right now (I know some of you just can't), but I want to account for you in case there you do decide to attend. I can always call whatever restaurant I end up reserving and say one less person is coming, but it might be tricky to add more people. Also, if you can give me some idea of when you will know by, that would help too.

For 9:00am breakfast with Tara, I have:

Maya, as much as I would love to come and spend the day with all you lovely ladies, I won't be able to get away that weekend. I'm soooo disappointed.

Definitely next time, Maya, and definitely next year for Fashion Week. We are tossing around the idea of Christmas in NYC this year, so maybe I'll see you over the holidays.

Maya, depending on the time and place, my husband may be with me and might like to hang out...when we were together in Seattle, Angie told me to bring him next time. Do you have any idea of the time? I am assuming you are thinking of lunch, right?

I am in for the whole day! Greg will be in for part of the day. He will either meet us for breakfast or lunch. We shan't torture him with the shopping but he will take pictures at some point.

You should count me in for now, Maya, even though I'm not sure yet. I'll probably only know in early September. I definitely won't be able to make the brunch with Tara, though. If I come I'll be there at lunchtime.

I'm definitely in for breakfast/meeting Tara. SO and I are spending Friday night in NYC but not Saturday night, so I may not be able to stay for the shopping part of the day. (Good grief -- that seems to be my fate for NYC meetups!) But let me see what variables need to be juggled and whether I can stick around for the afternoon.

Maya - I won't be able to confirm my trip until the end of the month, but even if I have to travel, it would not be until Sat pm ( late - probably red eye) or Sun am. That all depends on flight availability. This time I'm going to Sacramento, so I need plenty of travel time.

In conclusion, even if I have to travel, I will be available Sat am, so let me confirm for breakfast. If there is no trip, then I can stay with you for the shopping portion.

Can't wait to meet you guys!

I'm not sure yet if I'll come up Friday evening or Saturday morning. I don't think a Saturday morning train would get me there in time for breakfast unless I take a *really* early one. Can you include me as a tentative yes for breakfast for now, and I'll let you know asap if I need to back out?

hmm....well as it happens, my husband is flying in to JFK on sept. 10 (landing at 4:30pm). i doubt i could get him to show up in my stead - altho he is quite the snazzy dresser and a MUCH better and longer-lasting shopper than i!!! steph

I have added you to the confirmed list, C1. In reality I'm counting everyone so it doesn't make a difference, but it would help to know now if anyone is dropping out or being added.

Sheila, your husband is added as well. Yes, the gathering will be a lunch event, probably around 1:00.

April, there will be quite a gap between our 9:00am breakfast with Tara and our lunch, so I"m sure here will be some shopping in between

I am so sad, I think that I will probably not be able to make it. I start classes and am taking down an exhibition. It is probably my busiest time. If I am rested and organized enough, I may jump on a bus and come down for the day but realistically- I will probably be overwhelmed after my trip to England and starting classes. I am really disappointed.

Maya- count me out , unless I change my mind at the last minute in which case I will sit in a corner some where and catch up with all of you somewhere!

Tara- I wish I could come to the breakfast. How envious I am but I do have my lovely meeting with Inge, Fi and Julie on my trip to look forward to.

Is this generally an all-day affair, so I could kind of pop in if a time worked? I'm in the suburbs for a family event in the morning and then again in the evening. Unfortunately, I won't know if I can squeeze in the meetup until the day of the event. I'm thinking maybe I could text you if I can come to see where everyone is and just meet up then?

Steph, yes it is. You're well-acquainted with the city and its layout so I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem for you to just shoot me a text. I *think* you have my number from the DC gathering, but if not I can send it to you.

Is the shopping part only going to occur between breakfast and lunch or is any going to occur afterwards? I don't know how early I can get to NYC, probably no earlier than 10 am...but I don't want to miss the opportunity to shop in the company of Angie and all these fabulous YLFers

C1, It's definitely an all day affair I think. We're having breakfast with Tara at 9, so we likely won't be done by 10 anyway.

I'll be at the Grand Central around 10:40ish. I am planning to call Maya to see where everyone is and meet up with the group. IS that ok Maya?
