April: A Belated Happy Birthday! We're all looking forward to seeing you in your new clothes. To get you started, I challenge you to make three outfits by mixing your old and new closet items.
Outfit 1: Sunday brunch or high tea
Outfit 2: Presentation to a crowd (at work or charity function)
Outift 3: Walk in the neighborhood or park

Hope you like the challenge and have fun! You can reduce it to 1-2 outfits if it is too much.

Wow -- nice challenge indeed. Thanks, LOP -- this is truly perfect because I have been wanting to focus on integrating the new goodies with what I already have and now, no excuses!

I should be able to get this together over the next day or two, and will then be challenging ana or an. (Hmm, if there are only two remaining, is a coin toss as good as the random number generator?)

Yikes -- so sorry for the delay. Yesterday got away from us, and i had to rely on my 13-y.o. to take the snaps this afternoon. Okay, here are the "mixing new with old" outfits.

Outfit 1: Sunday brunch or high tea

Old: necklace, Fly London shoes, nude Oroblus, cascading cardigan from H&M, AT belt
Oops - I forgot to show the bag with this outfit. Mentally insert my new bone handbag...

Outfit 2: Presentation to a crowd (at work or charity function)

New: skirt and ruffle tank
Old: cardigan, micronets, shoes, red bag, necklace
I wanted to wear a jacket with this outfit to make it more authoritative, but I found that all my black jackets looked a little too big with the sleek skirt and tank. Hmm -- I realize this one isn't much different from Outfit 1 in terms of looking girly...

Outift 3: Walk in the neighborhood or park

OMG April! These are some of the BEST outfits that I've ever seen you post, and you have posted some pretty fabulous ones in the past! All three are perfect! Your new dress! The cardigan! The belt! The shoes! It's a good thing you didn't include that gorgeous bag because I don't think my heart would have been able to take the excitement!

LOVE the skirt with the tank and cardigan! I could totally see you giving a presentation in this, and no one paying a bit of attention because they can't take their eyes off of fabulous you!

Your third outfit is great, also! It's so nice to see the jacket come out to play.

Does H&M still carry that cardigan? I'm going to have to check out AT, too. I'm soooo copying! Well done!

Debora, I got two of those very full, very soft, light cascading cardigans at H&M, but it was over a month ago so they may be gone. Have a look, though -- they were amazingly inexpensive (like $14.99). And thank you for your sweet comments.

Yikes, April -- every outfit is completely fab!! My fave may be the first, with that awesome black/white/grey polka dot dress (where IS that from?), but the darker grey outfit looks so stylish also - just a bit more subtle about it

Your walk-in-the-park outfit would definitely make you the best dressed person in any of our parks, too!

April, honestly each of your outfits is so beautifully put together that they are an inspiration for a newbie like me.

In fact, I have been looking at the cascading cardigans coming into season here thinking "Hmmmm, I'm not too sure about this...". After seeing how beautifully you wear the look, I'm going to make sure I try it out. Thanks so much!

Katiepea -- the cascading cardigan I'm wearing in that photo is unusually lightweight, so it works well with a belt. In a heavier-weight knit, I think this kind of cardi looks best with the belt underneath it. Try one and show us!

Taylor -- if we didn't live on different coasts, we could raid each other's closets...
