Xmas gift card puchases - Express & Club Monaco

I had received gift cards for these two stores so I went to the mall yesterday to take advantage of them. Here are the photos of the purchases, please excuse the boxes in the background and dirty mirror - I am in a middle of big cleaning so I took a break.

At Express I picked up three neutral patterned button down shirts for layering: bold black stripe, tiny navy stripe and grey stripe/dot combo:

I wanted to get the orange pleated tank I posted earlier to layer under my fuchsia cardi, but the lace trim at the bottom looked pretty cheap so I decided to pass and get a simple orange cami instead. Btw, for those who were looking for real cream cami Express has them now. I also got two spring scarves, grey-yellow striped jersey one and black&white abstract silk one.

At Club Monaco, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they offer 20% off student discount. I got a black ruffly blouse - to follow my NY resolution of getting more blouses.

I also picked up a summer skirt on clearance, it was down to $ 19 from original $149 price!

Good job. I like your purchases. Everything looks geat. My favorites are the skirt and the BW scarf. Although the shirts look very nice on you, too.

I have the orange tank. It is great to layer. I was just at Express searching through their box sale. I found a great tank that had fucsias, yellows and black in sort of a watercolor print.

Great purchases! I love that CM blouse, I've been looking at it all season. I also really like the shirts, esp. the last patterned one. I need to check out Express - I haven' t seen many patterns shirts like that around.

I am very envious of your ability to wear puffy sleeves, Tanya. I really like all three shirts on you. I find shirts one of the hardest things to find for myself, so I'm very jealous.

I think my favorite of all your finds though, is the b&w scarf! Can't wait to see how you incorporate it into an outfit. Too bad the design won't be on full display when you're wearing it.

I love everything, but my favourites are the grey stripe-dot shirt and the Summer skirt.

I have a question for you: how do they wear? Are they stretchy? I have some Express buttondowns from years ago and they've held up surprisingly well.

Angie, you have the grey striped shirt too ! Wow, quite a coincidence. Now that makes three grey striped shirts that I am aware of that you have Signature item, maybe?

Lena, the Express shirts wear pretty well in my experience. I have some that are years old, I wash them on cold and hang to dry, and they look pretty well. Yes, they do have a bit of stretch, which I really like - makes the layering some much more comfortable.
