x-mas and birthday gifts for ylf-consideration

Ok. Here are some gifts I got for the various holidays on which I'd like your input.

The first is a cowl neck sweater. It's a great color for me. I hope it gets the thumbs up.

This is a coat my MIL got me. It's a lovely coat. I like the military inspired feel. I'm not sure that I would have purchased it myself but only because I don't really have a need for this kind of coat now. That aside, if I keep it, it will get use. I'm also not sure about returning it since she got it at the cole haan store. It is not in our city and I'm concerned about returning it and then wanting something that costs more. Eeeck.

Finally, some pants my mom got me. Winter white pants are on my list. Mom was thinking along the right line, but I'm not sure if the legs are too wide. Should I look for something with a slimmer leg? (They would need to be taken in at the waist, so I was holding them up to approximate that.)

Please disregard the sweats and slippers. DH and I watched a movie at home this afternoon so the sweats came out.

Love the sweater. It IS indeed a great color for you! The coat is lovely and obviously a quality piece. It's not my personal taste (I think I have a bias against brown) but it looks great on you and you wear it very, very well. I like the high collar. I really like the pants a lot. They are extremely flattering and the drape from hips to hem is really nice. Imagine them with the red sweater! IMO they will be a great, really versatile wardrobe basic.

I love the brown coat. The texture of the quilting is so beautiful. I also love the high collar and belt. I would love to have it for myself.

cowl neck sweater -- the color is fantastic and I'm starting to love cowl necks.
coat -- I like the quilting and it looks like it fits you well -- if you like it and will wear it, then keep it.
white pants -- I think that these look good on you but I'm not a good judge of wideness/slimness for trousers to I hope other speak to that.

A beautiful cowl neck jumper! Is it by French Connection? It seems short for pants though – better with skirts. The colour is AMAZING.

Of course, Tanya! Angie was right. It is french connection. I think my mom got it at Macy's though.

Alecia, your gifts are all hits! That's wonderful, your mom really knows what works for you, because that sweater is perfect, and the color is beautiful on you. I'd love to see it paired with a skirt and some boots!

Yay! You are very lucky to receive gifts that you like and fit! The jacket fits you perfectly--even the sleeve length--and I think for a quilted jacket, a perfect fit is necessary. I love the cowl sweater--great color, and the cream pants are beautiful. I'm impressed with the gift buyer's abilities!
