Would you, Could you....Inspiration

So I had a chance to op shop several pieces of lace. A white lace top and black lace skirt and a white and polka-dot skirt.

I found this picture on the web. It is inspiration only. My translation will be wearing Combat boots that are knee high. I'm not sure yet about the foot wear. I'm wearing this fit for an all day Chicago event known as The Chicago HOUSE Party that will take place at grant park. We will also be having a panel discussion at the Chicago Cultural Center. I've discussed HOUSE several times. So I'm gonna introduce you into my world a bit further. From 12:00am to 9pm. I will be downtown Chicago.

I am know as HOUSE. I'm one of those people that stands out for the type of clothing I wear and my style of dance. Thousands of people will be in attendance at this event. The weather will be spotty rain. So I chose lace because it is quick drying. I wanted to know if you had the opportunity would you go for it. I mean wear something similar? I would almost liken it to a style of punk rock known as AFROPUNK HOUSING.

I included a picture of the inspiration and I included a picture taken at last year's event. I also love to dance house is a mix of mosh pit afro punk, kickbixing and aerobics. Lol you'll be sweating at the end of the dance

Ok. I want to hear Afro punk! I love the inspiro pic. I'm getting more accustomed to the idea of sheer toppers...not that I'd be comfortable with showing my tap pants. Lol.

I have seen similar lace or sheer outfits on the red carpet. If I were you,I would wear black athletic quick-dry wear under the lace...a sport bra and biker shorts maybe. That could still be quick dry and not as revealing. Or you could wear that fan BOSS cold shoulder shirt with the skirt. Have fun.

Joy that is a great idea. The white lace is very delicate and so I'm saving her for a vintage tea party later this summer. Oh my I cannot wait then after that I'll wear her in the regular rotation. Lol

I want to wear a one piece swimsuit skirt underneath in black. It cacers all my goodies and it is moisture wicking have to have someone take pictures for you all. Thank you for the feedback.

I think it could look really great. I would not be comfortable showing that much skin but your idea to wear a swim suit skirt and Joy's idea to wear a sports bra could work. Sounds like fun!

Hey Robin F thank you for The feedback it is intresting I have also seen many looks on the red carpet. I have a one piece skirt that will go underneath so I think it will be modest. I'll post pictures later.

Ledonna, I really admire you! Your style is bold, edgy and very much you. I really wish I could be there at the house party with you, would love to see you in action on the dance floor

Hey Laura I just read your post. I loved your style from the first time I opened one of your post. I wish I could see you dance also it must be magnificent. HOUSING is pretty much us stomping and jumping around. It can be artistic. But I'm far from artistic. lol

I love the idea of a one-piece skirted swimsuit underneath. You will rock that look. And the red boots, too?
Do you have a black lace top, too?
What are you going to wear the polka dot skirt with? the new white lace top, for the tea party?

Gosh if I ever make it to Chicago I'm so going house dancing with you! thats after I've been op shopping. I think for an occasion like that, you should be able to wear what you want to wear and with a swimsuit covering what you probably don't want everyone to see, it should look great. Those boots are awesome too.

Firecracker I'm going to try the fit on a Saturday are a few pictures in the morning. I'm going to wear the red boots. I am going to wear a simple taink wit the white and polka dot and a beaded shawl collar that I got from the op shop recently.

Sally it would be awesome to op shop and go HOUSING with you.

Can you please instruct me how to watch you dance at this event ( a link or YouTube video?). This former Chicago resident, former dancer is keenly interested.

Rachylou I'm glad you enjoyed the brief snipit of afropunk.

CocoLion I wish I could people, FB friends send me short videos of me dancing, I rarely Cary a phone or record because I'm to busy dancing.

The fist is a 1 minute video. The next is Jack which is a style of Dance of HOUSE. I would highly recommend listening to this original recording. All HOUSE people know this Anthem by heart.
