Worst Movie/TV Fashion Offenders?

I already put my vote in for the first part of Working Girl. It makes me shudder to think some of us actually dressed like that or wore our hair in that towering mullet. And the 80s outfits are so easy to make fun of-- so I'll throw in Dynasty.

And, just so we don't take all our potshots at women, have you ever seen Paul Newman's outfits in that hockey movie SlapShot? They are so bad, you get mesmerized by them.

The TV show Wings! Especially the early seasons, and especially the men.

Baggy short sleeve crazy print button ups tucked into acid wash baggy jeans with tapered ankles. White high top tennis shoes, bomber jacket, and topped off with a skinny tie.

Designing Women? I loved that show, and I am pretty sure I love their clothes at the time. Julia? I thought she was wonderful!

I am a huge Seinfeld fan and watch the re-runs all the time. I always cringe at the clothes, including:

- gigantic shoulder pads on Elaine
- too big shirts on Jerry (shoulder seams way off his shoulders)
- Jerry's white tennis shoes with everything
- Elaine's boat shoes with skirts (I know that is in again, but I still hate it!)
- oversize coats (I see those are in for fall - yuck!)

I LOVE the show, but I hope that 90s fashion doesn't come back!

I used to adore the fashions on Dynasty. Now, looking back, I wonder what I was thinking! Just goes to show how TV and culture can influence a young woman who has yet to find her own personal style. Live and learn, right? You couldn't pay me to even consider wearing those clothes now.

Oh yeah, and Blossom. Never liked those clothes. Still don't.

The one that used to make me cringe was "Ally McBeal" with the lawyers wearing those SHORT skirts!

Funny: Over on corporette.com, you can post using whatever name you want. One time they featured this really cute suit with a SUPER SUPER SHORT skirt, and a lot of people were commenting on how the skirt length made it unsuitable for work. And somebody posted, "I don't see the problem," and signed it "Ally McBeal!" LOL

Seconding Steel Magnolias - I remember Julia Roberts' character saying something about how she hopes her baby has her sense of style and I'm all "WHAT?" I think she was wearing a Christmas sweater when she said this.

For TV, I happened across some Three's Company reruns the other day. Yikes.
