WIW: Tux jacket and olive jeans

I've been digging out some old clothes that have been too small and now fit me again- YAY!
One thing that I was eager to wear again was this DVF tux jacket. I always liked it, with its satin lapels and nicely tailored long slim shape. If anything, it's now a little loose on me. The question is, is this style still OK, or does it look dated?

Plans for today included lunch with a friend and a little shopping. I started with my nostalgic Woodstock photo print tank, but felt chilly, so switched to a cashmere striped long-sleeved sweater instead.
How do these look? Is the jacket too long, too dated, too boxy, too anything?

I'm eager to hear your thoughts!

I think you look faaabulous Parsley! I prefer the outfit with the second top, the one you wore. It looks more modern, somehow.

As for the jacket, it's hard to say. I have a Three Dots knit jacket with the same lines. I wore it to death a few years ago, it is still comfortable but a little faded from dry cleaning (it is black). So, I have been wondering the exact same thing -- is this length and silhouette still relevant? Yours in particular, with the better fabrication, looks nice. What about pairing it with skinny leather bottoms and booties and a clutch? I think yours still has some life in it.

Denise, I'm hoping that this is classic enough that it's still good. I do want to try it with my coated skinnies and booties (I don't have any leather pants). Now I have to figure out what sort of top. Any ideas?

That's a gorgeous jacket and I think it still has life in it for sure. I agree with Denise - pair with some of your fab leather pieces.

The jacket is classic in it's lines. I think Denise is spot on --- pairing it with one trendier piece will keep it fresh, or you can just embrace the classic. The fact that it's a little loose makes it seem more modern, actually.

I love this outfit and will try a version of the second one sometime soon. I like the proportions of the long jacket.

I think the DVF jacket is awesome. I like both tops, with a slight preference for the first. I seem to be 'over' breton stripes. How funny that when you said Woodstock top I thought of Charles Schultz's friend of Snoopy!
