There's some really interesting insights
I never really thought much about what's acceptable in my office...I've been here since I was in uni, and my style has evolved in this environment. I used to be very, very boring in what I wore...but in about the last 6 months have really kicked things up a notch thanks to YLF.
There are 3 other women in our entire organization. One is a Russian lady, always impecaably but conservatively dressed. The other is an Indian lady, again, always conservatively dressed (although lately I've noticed she is kicking up her outfits a notch too - maybe my influence??? :-P). And the last lady is in her 50s and pretty conservative, she always compliments me on my outfits (especially accessories). I have also noticed she is wearing more makeup and jewelry to the office and I'd like to think it's my influence!
I agree, maybe this skirt is just too short. There are a lot of men, I've never had a problem but then I've not taken much notice as I don't care what most of them think! But I think I'll reconsider this one.
The general style in the office ranges from super conservative business (Managing Director) to jeans/shirt/Cons (my direct supervisor and my male team mate), to really daggy t shirt and jeans (the software developers).
Thanks for the input ladies
