I'd NEVER have thought to wear that muted pink sweater with that bright, gorgeous necklace! Kudos to you, Kirti, because it looks fab. What would have been a sweet, gentle-ish, almost romantic outfit suddenly has drama! I would love to see you try this sweater+necklace combo with your brown skirt from the other day too.
Truly a beautiful necklace, Kirti, and seems very versatile too. I think I agree with Tina, though, that you could stand to take it up a bit more (and this holds for your other orange and silver one as well).
There was a book I had for a while that correlated proportions in the arts to fashion (the golden mean, of course, and then some!). It suggested that the easiest place for eye-catching scarves or jewellery is one head/face length down. That is to say, the largest/widest/most interesting bit of your necklace, tied scarf or brooch should fall at this point, or for a statement piece like this one, the endpoint of should hit just there. Going by your photo, I think this means it could go up an inch and a half probably, which means the lowest tier *just* nestles against your bust and the beads start closer to your face, as Tina suggested, nicely leading the eye back to your smile
(I can't for the life of me recall the name of the book at the moment, unfortunately. It was rather a handy little tome.)
Off-topic to Lyn*: The world's second hottest chilli comes from eastern India, so I definitely wouldn't want to go up against your friend in the spice stakes Still, I'm from east India too, and would like to assure you that we also do gentler flavours as well! (Our culinary guidelines advocate ONE dominant flavour per recipe, so if a dish is not red-hot, it will usually concentrate on being fragrant, sour, salty, or sweet. A full meal must cycle through all the flavours.) So please don't let that put you off visiting India soon!
