WIW: Mod squad (eliza j. dress) and weekend edition

Here's the Eliza J. dress, as mod as I could make it with my authentic vintage boots and my black glasses. Not sure I should keep the necklace. This dress is AWESOME. Heavy knit, lined body, and pockets! It runs quite short IMHO; this is petite but the regular was not much longer.

Bonus photos: what I wore to see k.d. lang on Saturday and to run errands yesterday.

Should I keep the necklace or let the dress speak for itself?

Love that dress! You look awesome in COLOR!! Are those your OTK boots? You've inspired me!! I need to find a way to rock mine. Also, which jacket is that? Is it the AS cropped jacket or the Bona Drag? Fun concert!

Thanks Rita! The second photo is my OTK boots. In addition to k.d. lang, Wanda Sykes was performing here, AND there was a "pirate pub crawl" going on, so there were tons of people dressed like pirates and wenches roaming the streets. I figured the boots would cover all my options.

The jacket is actually an old F21 ponte moto jacket - one of those rare cheap finds that has proved to be a workhorse. I thought everyone else would be in leather jackets at the concert (and they were). The concert was, of course, incredible - she is the best live performer I've ever seen.

I didn't really respond to this dress in the Nordstrom stock photo - it looks sort of weird and tulip-y. I love, love, love it on you though. Looks so much more edgy!

#2 is my favorite "jeans" look ever! And the cut and color of that dress is superb on you. Love the hair and glasses with #1 too; they really add polish.

Rita, she was performing separately - too bad because she probably attracts a similar audience but was more last minute. I would have loved to see her! Just watched her on Curb Your Enthusiasm last night...

LOVE the killer frock! I also vote leave off the necklace.

(Dresslover, that's why I bat for Team Store, and my list of suggested items means seeing them in the flesh and on bodies - which is always more compelling. Photos can lie).

#2 is KILLER too.

I see great potential with the blue booties in future outfits.

Phew! Thanks Angie! I am beyond thrilled to have picked something that you recommended BEFORE seeing your recommendation! Hopefully a sign of progress... And thanks too because I am going to leave off the necklace - I think it interferes with the cleaner Emma Peel look I was attempting. She would never wear a necklace as it would hinder her from stopping bad guys.

How great that you already had the dress in #1 when Angie mentioned them today-you look great in it! I love the tights and the boots and am +/- on the necklace (its a bit less edgy with the necklace I think. depends on what you are going for). I think you look fantastic in outfit #2. all around love it.

I think maybe the issue with the outfit/boots in #3 is that the jacket is a muted color with a lot of grey in it and the boots are a cleaner/clearer color? Though they would probably look great with a straight grey, so maybe that isn't it...I really like the items individually, but they seem a little discordant together...Hmm..

I think your black BF blazer, simple v neck tee and dark jeans would rock with these EBB as well.

I do not know if you will rock your maxi skirt again; however, I think these would look awesome popping out as you walk/move/chase Kona.

Love Mrs Peel! That dress is to die for...the color is gorgeous on you. Awesome look and I agree you don't need the beads. If you were going to add anything I would go for a long 60's influenced pendant. No 2 is perfection! Love the blue booties and look forward to seeing more styling options...the color is electric

That concert sounds amazing. I adore k.d. lang's voice, and Hymns of the 49th Parallel is still one of my favorite albums.

Her album Ingenue meant a lot to me back in the day :). Such a beautiful, soulful voice! Well, I love the dress and agree with letting it speak for itself. Love your boots look in #2! I guess you've decided you can handle the heel height on your bright blue booties? Awesome!!! Somehow I think that all 3" heels are not created equal.
