WIW: Military Slouch

This outfit may seem a bit dark and dreary for early summer, but it suits the kind of weather we're having and I think I've added warm weather "bits" by scrunching the sleeves and wearing the shoes with bare feet.

I started today's outfit with my black slouchy trousers and a simple black tank. On top of that, I added my military-inspired olive green jacket. I then added the two-tone olive Fluevogs and my olive/cream snakeskin satchel. A gold watch and wedding ring finished off the outfit.

What do you think? Early summer enough looking or too heavy? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

the jacket is great! love the military look.
i wouldn't wear this in the middle of the summer, but it feels right for the early still cool days, and it will be a great fall transitional outfit.

I think it's a great outfit! I never worry all that much about summer vs. winter colors. There's no reason that all your dark outfits have to be saved for winter. If it's suitable for the weather and your mood, then I think it's appropriate.

Yup, what Sara said. I usually WANT to head into lighter, brighter colours at this time of year, but when it's so freaking dreary....

Well, it's hard to top a K2K with a mere comment, but this is a very sophisticated and pleasing outfit, Shannon. Modern, trending pieces that don't seem "trendy" when put together in such a sleek mix.

This outift would work well with a white on white base in place of the black on black, too!

Who cares if colors are summery or not if you look so sophisticated and chic? I don't!

I like this combo a lot. The jacket is very flattering and the neckline looks so fab on you. The shoes add just the right amount of interest too. Lovely!
