WIW for DH Closet challenge-Week 6

Hi,

As promised, here are week 6 outfits.

Now onto the outfits. Gear outfits are not shown. I had a few outfits I'm undecided on for the combination.

#1-Black and White

I've been trying to wear my white shirt at least once a week.

#2-Teal and Pattern

The most patterned cardigan in my entire wardrobe and I just adore this print.

#3-Camo and Burgundy

I'm not sure about the burgundy and camo together.

#4-Cobalt and Grey

Another combination I'm unsure about, I keep thinking a white jean would work better here.

#5-Hoodie and Blazer

I've liked this concept ever since Angie first mentioned it.

#6-Bright!

One of the brightest colors in my wardrobe.

#7-Back of the bright sweater, it's cable knit and longer hemline for the back.

#8-Camo and Print

I haven't worn this out of the house yet, is this too much print mixing?

The coral sweater is really terrific on you!

And I can see how these pieces are adding needed warmth to the outfits.
How do you feel about the frequent wears of the white shirt? Do you enjoy it?

Suz-Thanks! I know I shouldn't be thinking of anymore wardrobe additions. But I'd like to see this color in a cashmere sweater sometime. Maybe next year when I can replace a sweater.

bumping for outfit #8, does the camo and cardigan print mixing works here?

Lisa, it's not my favourite. I don't think it's bad, if you know what I mean, but it doesn't sing to me, either. I wouldn't think, "Yuck, what an awful pattern mix!" but I wouldn't necessarily think, "Wow, what a cool pattern mix!" Does that make sense? But please keep in mind my own minimalist style preferences here. I do pattern mix and enjoy it, but only in small doses. And with larger patterns I prefer to let them be the sole star.

Suz-I'm leaning that way too. I don't hate it, but I only felt "meh" about it after I saw the photo. Thanks for the second opinion!

Wow Lisa - you had a great week of outfits! I love, love, love #s 3, 5, and 6. The burgandy definitely works with the camo in #3 - and I think that burgandy is a great color for you. I love the jacket over hoodie concept in #5 - a very hip look that you can definitely pull off! And, the color of the sweater in #6 (as well as the style - how cool is the back?) just makes your skin glow! I think you need to add some more color to your wardrobe!
In answer to your question about mixing the patterned sweater with the camo - I think it absolutely works because the camo print is very subtle and therefore does not clash with the pattern in the sweater. I would definitely play around with the pattern mixing! Also, just am wondering about #1 - did you happen to try to button up the white blouse either all the way, or perhaps just one more button? I tried wearing a white blouse like yours the other night, along with a necklace that is about the same length as yours, and I found that it worked best if the blouse was buttoned up (at least one more button, if not all the way buttoned up.)
I think that one of the reasons that I really like #s 3 and 5 is because of the silhouette - I think you look really great with tops that hit you at the waist or just a little bit lower than your waist - rather than longer. The silhouette makes your legs look really long.

First of all, your smile and dimples in #1 made me smile, Lisa. Sooooo cute. *hugs*

#6 is fashion forward. Mt thumbs are up if you feel fab in the outfit. I vote scrunch the sleeves for added structure and skin. Sometimes, adding skin to an outfit neutralizes the hectic-ness of the combination.

I'm going with #5 and #6 as my faves. You are utterly adorable.

Marley-Thanks! It's nice to find another color besides grey and black to pair with the camo jeans. And a great point about top lengths, I need to asses more of my tops, because I find that some I feel more fab in than others and length may be playing a key role in that. Great observation!

Angie-Thanks! You have me smiling again with your kind comment. Whatever style 5 and 6 are, I think may be what suits me best. I feel a bit more like "me" in them versus some of the other outfits, especially 1 which is rather crisp with the shirt. I'll try scrunching the sleeves for 8, I still haven't decided if it's too much pattern mixing or not for me. The camo is rather subtle so it may work.

Keep us posted, Lisa. It's great to know which outfits make us feel best isn't it.

My fave is the hoodie and blazer. I like the subtlety of the brown with grey.

Angie-That's one really nice about this challenge, I'm wearing the same items often, it gives me a chance to pinpoint those that are not making my heart sing because it's a lot easier to notice if I am reaching for something or not with a small wardrobe.
