WIW: EF harems - YouLookFab Forum

LisaP commented that I haven't shared any harem pics so here are a few. None are brilliant, but I think they work okay. Feedback and suggestions welcome!

1. Vince Camuto top.
2. Lucky brand tee
3. This top was at the Rack and I loved the low peplum in a less girly tee, but the stripes in the pic drove me crazy so I returned!
4. Kenneth Cole thrifted sweater. Wore this to dinner last night as it was cooler and raining.

And two not harem pics;

5. To work: old VC ruched skirt and some cardi with a new BR snake print top. Why does BR have such low-cut V-necks. This was okay at first, but kept sliding down and would have revealed my bra had I not been wearing a cami. Grrr.
6. Old faves to work on a hot day. Two guys complimented the skirt print.

I have that BR snake print top , and have often wondered how much I'm inadvertently flashing If I'm wearing it without a jacket, I do have a fairly good-sized piece of jewelery in place to hold things in place. I love that top though - so sexy and breezy ! Note to self to wear it this week.

I actually like that striped top! Peplums are so tough - I find almost all of them are up way too high and make me look like a chubby toddler. Not quite the look I'm going for.

So what do you think of the harems here?

Agree on peplums - I tend to feel overly flouncy in them, but this one was pretty good and I like the lower waist.

I quite missed the point, didn't I? Sorry, I shouldn't try to multi-task (i.e. work) when looking at forum posts. I think they look great on you - very easy and cool. Flattering too. My question: is this a lot of pant to wear in summer though? I'm not expecting to wear mine much at all until fall - all of that fabric !

I also expect to dress mine up - like way up. I don't see myself wearing them casually like you show here. I think that's where I would get out of my comfort zone.

They are good for our summers for sure. Like a skirt alternative. I have yet to dress mine way up - that's out of MY comfort zone! I'm thinking of having my other pair with the less dropped crotch made into knee length shorts.

In the pics it is hard to tell they are harems...they look like soft wide bloomer type pants. But I did see the first pics when you got them so I know that IRL they look cool on you.

I like the camo print skirt on you a lot. I debated about the BR top but decided I did not need a low V neck in my life. Seems it was the right decision for me since I have nothing to fill it out.

I like seeing the way people wear the Harem Pants in everyday looks. I like the print of the skirt very eye catching.

Oh I never know how to pose in WIWs, no matter what I'm wearing. I always look too serious and like a complete dork.
I like the longer tops you've chosen to wear with the harem pants. I often wear shorter tops with baggy pants because I don't like all that fabric around my mid-section. Maybe I need to re-think that - I don't have harem pants but I do have loose fitting track pants.

They look good -I usually wear them casually with t's semi-tucked, but haven't really tried with the looser ones (I'm more. M-L than your size so stuck to a little shorter tops) but I'm inspired to do some try on's as yours look casually cool. I guess you never know if you don't try. And I don't do enough experimenting I don't think. I've worn them dressed up, but with sparkly flats and a metallic shirt.

Love that camo skirt. I SO want one. Anyhow, for the harems, I like outfits 1 and 4 the best. I am not as keen on the printed tops with them but I think those looks work too for a more casual vibe. You should wear that shade of red in outfit 4 more often. You look fab in it.

The cross over leg pose sort of blurs the harem aspect, but no matter, you still look fab!
