WIW : Denim Look Culottes

Hi Fab Ones,

I bought these culottes a few weeks ago and today is the first outing for them.

I love culottes and these are my third pair. I have black winter, black summer and these which are pretty transeasonal.

They look like denim but are a lovely weight jersey, so they swish and flow beautifully when you move.

It was especially nice today when DH, who hadn't seen them before, unsolicited, told me he really liked them

Wearing them with a chiffon blouse (sheer sleeves) tucked at the front.

Culottes - Motto

Sandals - Kmart

Any comments or suggestions for styling much appreciated.

I love these! The blue is so vivid and dramatic against the black and your fair coloring. Love the little pops of red in you lip and nail color.

The culottes are a gorgeous colour and look lovely on you. I love the bracelet that you have on. It looks like leather.

Thanks Style Fan:). Yes it is leather. It's a long strap that wraps around and then fastens in a small buckle:). I love it and wear it most days x

Deborah, you are doing an incredible job of adding color to your style. I'm not sure I have witnessed such a clear style evolution (probably because your palette was so limited before) and I am finding it so fascinating. You know yourself so well and even when you extend in a new direction it is in a cohesive and thoughtful way. I love this silhouette on you, and the intensity of this gorgeous blue adds a vividness to your usual drama. Love it!

Viva thank you so much! I so appreciate your thoughtful comments. I am reasonably clear in my mind on what I want to add and where I'm not prepared to go:). The denim blue to me is a neutral and it's a solid so I feel it's still true to my aesthetic. This may sound funny, but I'm feeling led toward what I consider (for me) is a more grown up style. I'm liking the sound of modern sophistication. I may need to review my style moniker/style rubric. I'm greatly encouraged xx
