Happy Sunday Ladies!

For the last month I have been plagued with flu and colds and once again this weekend I am a "snot factory"... must get some vitamin c!

Anyway I'm not going to let that stop me so I dragged myself out of bed to go to church, and I wanted to try out this new to me thrifted jacket.

It's satin and a kind of shrunken style. Worn over my ink blue blouse and Bootcut jeans.

Does this work?

I hate that feeling. Where does all that stuff come from anyway? You'd think a person would lose 10lbs through nose blowing alone. Try pushing the Vitamin D too. C prevents I think so kind of too late for that.
Lovely outfit - overcomes the illness factor I hope. Feel better.

Lovely Deborah, and the grey shoes are kind of unexpected but give the whole outfit a more casual vibe. Every second person I know has some sort of cold too, hope it passes soon.

Gorgeous jacket!!! and you are utterly beautiful in that deep blue. Somehow, those inky midnight tones are even more dramatic than black --- maybe the extra depth where black sometimes photographs more flat?

And how awesome for the print to mimic your hair colour! Delightful match.

Be well, Deborah. Maybe a little extra zinc to support the C, and also extra doses of allium to see that mucus on its way?

Oh poor Deborah!!

I thought I made up the phrase "snot factory"!!!! It is a horrible feeling isn't it. I have avoided bad colds so far this year, though DH and all girls have been affected. I didn't make it to church myself this morning as my DD4 was sick, maybe with a touch of croup.

But I would never have guessed that you were feeling ill as you look great. The outfit really works and I love the new jacket.

Have you tried echinacea BTW? I have have had some (though not complete) success with it.

I bought this jacket for the hefty sum of $7.00 on Friday hoping that with the right styling it would work and wouldn't look frumpy, so I am so pleased you like it. If anyone has any other styling suggestions I would be really appreciative as all I can come up with at the moment is jeans.

Lyn the shoes do read grey on the screen but they are taupe and actually work much better with the jacket IRL.

I went to the pharmacy today to pick up some Codral and I could not believe how many people came in, in that short time to get the same. Makes me wonder about the benefits of the flu shot?

Summer colds seem to be the worst! Hope you are on the mend and feeling better soon. Love how you styled the jacket - casual , yet elegant. How about white trousers with a bit of a flare/bootcut?

You appear to have more than enough validation that this is a YES but I wanted to add mine. Using the monochrome blues as a backdrop for the jacket and adding the blue scarf is pure genius in my opinion. I think this outfit is one of your best and if you can't tell by the gushing, I love it.

I think I am going to pin it to remind me.

Oh gosh, sorry to hear that you're unwell. That's utterly miserable!
I don't know what the product would be in your part of the world, but my doctor recommends taking Mucinex DM, which is a decongestant plus mucus-thinning med that's available over the counter in a pharmacy. It helps a lot when my nose is so stuffy or runny that I can't breathe.

You look phenomenal in this outfit. The navy base calls toons your usual black and white palette, but in a more romantic way. That's an excellent blazer!

I can't believe you all like it. Its not vintage but it's not quite current so I knew the risk was that it might just look dated and frumpy. I love the satin and the colors and felt that if the other peices were current it would work. So your thumbs up is a great encouragment.

And thanks for your well wishes. Head colds are so not fun:(

Gorgeous! I love the layering here, with the jacket being the shortest then the top then the long bootcuts. Glad to see the taupe boots getting some use already (those are them, yes?). The jacket is just awesome, I would happily wear it myself and I'm not into florals nor satin normally! Hope you are feeling better
