Today after waking up and a quick shower I stepped into the kitchen to make tea. Into a large puddle of water. I looked above me and the ceiling was drooping and bulging. Apparently someone's dishwasher gave out above me.
Good news is it was localized to the kitchen and my stuff is fine, and the apartment will be good as new in a day or so after maintenance confirms everything has dried out.
But oh, on a hectic morning, I was so glad to have a simple dress to throw on without a second thought! (I had to dress in a hurry- I was literally still in my bathrobe with my hair in a towel when emergency maintenance showed up since they responded so quickly.)
