White Sandal Search

Ok...so I've decided white sandals are the last thing for my spring/summer list. I'm in a really good place with my wardrobe for the warm months (pending my perfect white jeans search) and white sandals should finish it off nicely.

Here are some contenders that I can get locally - I'm wanting something that can be worn both casually with shorts and with frocks/skirts for work. Lower heeled is a must, as is leather, not narrow and nothing between my toes.

Any of these three jump out at you?

http://www.canadianfootwear.co.....719;-Root-. Quite different - like a hybrid between a shoe and a sandal. I like the silver touches for a bit of sci-fi.

I really like the first ones.
The second ones are nice, too, but I wonder if Nine Wests would be too narrrow for you.

I love the first two pairs for your current style direction, Shannon. The third pair is also nice, but a little less refined style I think, and I know you are loving more ladylike footwear right now.

To Marcy's point, the Nine Wests do look a little narrower, but there's only one way to find out if they are comfy...

I like the first pair and I think it'll go well with your style. The silver accents are nice. I'm not so crazy about the second pair but I think it's because they seem too, well, white to me, and I only really like white shoes if they are small and show a lot of skin.

Third pair is quite cute and funky too - it reminds me of a Fidji - but I am not liking the black sole. I came across this problem a lot too when searching for pale metallic wedding shoes. So many of them had black soles - whyyyy?

Even the dark sole on the first pair bugs me a little, but at least it is brown and not black. I'd prefer a lighter color wood though.

I like the first pair the most and they sound like they will be comfortable and fit your multiple purposes! Cant wait to see them in some outfits!

I like the second pair best. I like the first pair next, but I am not sold on the fabric panel on the back. It takes away some of the refinement. I like the third pair the least and think you can do better than it!

Another vote for the first pair, although Thistle is write, the fabric makes is more casual. I'd also worry about dirt on the heel a bit.

I should add that I am a dirt magnet, and spend a lot of time with my foot on an accelerator!

Wow - you ladies are GOOD!!!

Looks like pair #1 has taken the early lead and you have raised some excellent points.

Parsley - I suspect you're right in that the Nine West look more narrow.

Inge - yes, I'm definitely moving towards more refined footwear lately so you're right in that #3 is less in that direction.

Diana - yeah, that black sole on #3 was kind of bugging me too and I have no earthly idea why they do that on white shoes/sandals. Do they honestly think it won't show???

Thistle - I hear you about the fabric on the back of #1 but strangely enough, I think that's the detail that will help the sandal in a more casual outfit.

Beth Ann - yep, my accelerator does a number of the back of my driving shoe too. That's why now when I'm wearing something light colored or more delicate, I wear a pair of old sandals for driving and change when I get to my destination.

Think I'll go to my local Hudson's Bay (even though they drive me nuts) and see if they have the first pair in store in my size and if not, place an order. Like Inge said, only one way to find out...

Shannon, how do you do it? I've been looking for days and didn't find these. Mind you, maybe I did, without really knowing it, or I unconsciously ruled them out...I fear the first ones might hurt my ankle (based on another cross strap pair I tried) and I already have sandals with silver detailing on the toe (my SEs). And the ankle strap on the second ones would give me a short leg-line. But wow, I am impressed with your shopping acumen!

Shannon I would recommend you call the store and see if they stock it. I have found that many of the items on the website are not actually in the store. Might save some frustration - unless they do not answer

I bought those enzos and am returning. The toe strap is too stiff and cuts across my tootsies. I can soften them with wear maybe, but i don't like them enough,

The nine west ones are swell.

I like the looks of the Enzos the best but I am not satisfied yet and think you need more options. Finding good white shoes is very tricky!

I tried that Enzo sandal on at the Rack and it didn't work for me because the ankle straps were too big for my ankles. Also, as BJ said, they are quite stiff. So much will depend on where the straps hit on your toes and ankle bones so they need to be tried to know. The style is very cute.

# 2! Please buy #2 or I might have to lol. They are stunning. Modern, so flattering on the foot *sigh*. #1 comes a close second.

I have tried Nine West ones and they did not feel narrow at all - and I have wide feet. I liked them a lot but was not sure they will be comfortable enough to splurge.
I also like #1 for you. I would get both and see which you like better both for comfort and look on your feet.
Suz, surprisingly enough the wide ankle strap in NW did not shorten the leg line at all and they were very flattering - but in white. As soon as I tried on black ones it was a very different story...

I like the first pair best - but then again, I haven't tried any of these styles on myself, so have no idea in terms of comfort and fit. My second choice is the pair in pic #2.

Does the Bay have a good return policy? Can you try out pair #1 and see if they work, and if they don't, then go for pair #2?

Suz - I wish the shorter heeled Sam Edelman's worked for me - I love those sandals but alas, just didn't fit me right at all.

Well bj1111 and Joy were right - I popped by The Bay after dinner and they had the Enzo's in my size and the fit was waaaaaay off. The strap that comes across the top was stiff and hit me in the completely wrong place. My baby bunion was crying after two minutes

They did not have the Nine West at all in the store but am thinking of ordering to try on.

VC - the Bay has an excellent return policy so no worries there.

I can see the white sandal hunt may be quite the task - but I'm like a dog with a bone so BRING IT ON!!!

I couldn't wear the SE with the small silver block heel, either (the one Denise has). Doesn't fit me right.

I tried a really fun Kelsi Dagger at Heel Boy but it hurt horribly.

I haven't yet tried those Enzos but I suspect a similar fate to yours with them.
