White Denim Moto Find & a Denim on Denim Look

I was at the outlet mall yesterday returning a pair of clarks boots that I had ordered from another store (but unfortunately too wide in the calf & too snug in the foot!). I popped into the BR outlet and spotted this gorgeous white denim moto jacket! It’s definitely a bit cropped (remember I’m 5’), a great optic white and much more summer friendly than a white leather/pleather moto! It just came out this week and is at full outlet price of $69.99. I would have grabbed it but am sadly over budget for the month (the NYC meet-up was totally worth it though!). This might be great for anyone who has not jumped on the white moto jacket trend already!

Also, here’s what I wore – inspired by Laura’s denim on denim post, I paired an old RL chambray shirt with my new denim leggings from Uniqlo - Maya, I hope you love yours as much as I love mine!. It seemed pretty blah but very comfy! Any suggestions on how to add some interest? Maybe a spring floral scarf? It’s not really amenable to belting (not that I would haha) as it poufs out too much with a belt. Maybe a weathered brown belt ( as in Angie’s post) worn loosely around the hip (though I don’t own one)? The shirt is a bit on the oversized/tunic scale (although it doesn’t flare out on the one side like in the photo which is just from me holding my arm up). All I need is a black BF blazer & I could have been back in 1993!

Shana, I love that jacket on you and I think it's perfect for spring! Put it to the top of your list and grab it next month when your budget gets replenished! Your Uniqlo leggings look fantastic on you - sooo worth it! I like the idea of a low-slung belt with the denim shirt. Does your hubby have one in his closet that you could steal? Good for you, being one of the first on board with the denim shirt look!

That jacket would be so useful over a summer dress.
Your yellow shoes add a nice touch to the denim on denim look. I like Angie's idea from today's blog of a lacy cami under the shirt and wonder how a lacy black one would look with this outfit. Trying out belts sounds like a plan too.

I'll be taking my denim leggings for their first test run tomorrow. They're a bit low rise in the back for me, so definitely long tops only. Lucky you for not having my bubble butt

I've got a butt, Laura. It's not *big*, just very high and umm...perky? That's why a 15" back rise is the holy grail for me. My hips are 37" and well over half of those 37" are in my backside :p

Deb, I don't know if I can pull off the low slung belt look. I have no hips!

Haha, Maya, there must be some benefit to having a pancake butt - never having to worry about the back rise!!! The flats are Nine West and are very roomy in the toe box but pinch my right bunion/big toe horribly. I'm going to try stretching them and pray that it works because they are totally comfy otherwise. The model is called Lowky.

Taylor, how funny. Mine is many years old - it's been hanging in the back of my closet forever! It's an odd fit though - not really fitted, not really tunic.

Angie (and everyone else), thanks for the validation. I'm waffling. I have two white summer type jackets already - a white eyelet blazer from BR (which I have posted pics of before) as well as a white denim jacket (traditional style) which I found at the end of the season last summer. Do I really need a third? Plus, I was thinking of going for this olive green military jacket when it goes on sale:
