Which size sequined tank to keep?

I've been on the hunt for just the right sequined tank for a couple years now, and finally found one that I really like: cream with white semi-matte sequins (yummy white on white!). However, I just can't decide on which size to keep! Both sizes seem like they would work in my wardrobe ><

I promise that both of these are roomy. The smaller size has some semblance of shape (I'm IT/Hourglass) and feels roomier than it looks here. The larger size is waist (and a little bust) surrendering and while I am feeling a bit swamped in it, perhaps it would be more on-trend to have this top be more clearly oversized? I do wish the size difference showed as pronounced on camera as it looks in person. Sorry for the I-just-woke-up hair and face, they are accurate for when the photos were taken

#1, 2 - Smaller size.
#3, 4 - Larger size.
#5 - Gaping armhole in both sizes (smaller left, larger right), but more pronounced in larger size. I am guessing I'd have to have the shoulder taken up to fix this? I've never had this issue before!

Shown with very basic styling. Which size looks best to you gals? Thanks for the input!

EDIT: Had to add what I mentioned in my reply to AJ below regarding movement: they actually both feel good. The smaller size feels "comfortably loose" and the bigger size feels "breezy", if that makes sense.

Smaller size. The drape at the waist is better and more intentional looking in the smaller.

Definitely the smaller size. I have one in a larger size, but it's a scoop neck and I wear a button down under it. If you plan to wear alone go with smaller and leave roomy for the bottoms.

Smaller size, for sure. There looks like there is too much gapping in the armhole in the larger size. Love the way you styled it. I wish I looked that good when I woke up in the am! DH is not that lucky

Interesting! This is the first time the smaller size of something I post has gotten so many votes up front. That larger size must really be big! Would love more input if it's out there

Kelly, well at least I managed a meager smile for you gals, poor hubby has to deal with Very Grouchy Aida every morning (I'm not even a little bit of a morning person!).

AJ, the jeans are selvage GAP relaxed straight leg jeans, 100% cotton and zero stretch. Not "proper" BF jeans, but that is what I bought them for.

I don't think the larger size is really big. Just the gaping at the arm hole is more noticeable. Pick what feels better movement wise.

I think the smaller looks good and still has some drape. I think it is harder to try to.go too roomy in a tank, compared to what you can do with sleeves.

Also, how is the Sit Down Test at the hips and the view with the Lean/Bend Over Test? I'm assuming the smaller one is still the winner.

If you wanted a "trendier" look, you could always pair this tank with trendier pieces (those BF jeans, for example). Since you've waited this long for the perfect sequined tank, I see no problem with going for a more classic fit so that you can wear it more often!

I think the smaller size definitely looks better. It provides some shape while still maintaining a comfortable amount of room. And I don't see the gaping at the arm as being an issue in the smaller size, TBH. I love the top, though, and it looks great on you!

I think the smaller size. Trying to change the armhole too much on the larger sounds like a recipe for trouble and why... when the smaller size is so fab already? It is a much smaller alteration and thus more likely to be invisible upon completion.

Yep - I agree with the smaller too - and that gap is easily fixed by taking up in the shoulder seam (shortening the straps) a big.

Smaller sized tank looks better to me, and I love those jeans on you. To remedy the gaping, try pinching the underarm seam and the shoulder seam, to see which alteration gives the effect you want.

They look so similar to me, but I would go with the one with the better armhole fit. I don't think you need to alter the smaller size. It looks fine to me and you can't see any bra action.

I think it is down to how relaxed or slouchy you want the top to fit. I'm inclined towards the small though.

I can barely see the difference on the photos so either way is fine in my book. You look fab in this style of tank!

Both sizes do look fab. However if you did take up the shoulder, I'd opt for the larger size.
