Which jacket?

Which jacket should I keep? Or maybe neither? The first one I bought at Gap 6 years ago, and have hardly worn it. The second I bought this week at The Loft. I'm not sure if the shoulder detail works with my IT-ness. If I should keep one, any styling ideas? Thanks!

I really like the clean lines of the first one, and the colour rocks

The first one seems to fit better. You look like you may be an hourglass....when I draw an imaginary line from your shoulders down to your hips, they seem to be in perfect proportion. But perhaps the angle of the camera doesn't show how broad your shoulders are......if so, I would avoid the gathered shouldered one just for that reason.

Number 1 is beautiful on you and the color is divine (and I'm guessing it's paid for, too)!
For styling, how about the lemming look? Skinnies, boots and a scarf. They could all be neutrals and your blazer will sing!

The first one is a lovely color and it either fits you better or is just higher quality...or maybe a combo of both? The front view on #1 is much sleeker than #2. You can style it any number of ways - it can be dressed up with trousers as business casual, or worn with denim for a smart casual. I'd vote keep #1, return #2.

Another vote for keeping #1 as the better jacket on you and returning #2. You might wear it with a longer top under it when wearing jeans and with a tucked in blouse or shirt with a skirt. I could also see wearing it with a LBD (love this color with black!)

I also prefer #1. #2 seems to hit too high on your hip from the front view and it doesn't lay as nicely.

#1 is the keeper! It is a gorgeous color, the fit is very nice, the sleeve length perfect. Now you just need to MAKE yourself wear it!!

There's no trick to trying something outside your comfort zone, you just need to make up an outfit and make yourself wear it

I think I'd really like #1 with black pants or black jeans, a top that's a bit longer than the jacket (like the cream top but a few inches longer), then boots or booties, and a scarf or statement necklace! Pretty much a standard MOTG outfit built around your jacket

Another vote for #1. I like the color and the cut of this jacket. The other looks too short and o thi k the color not as flattering.

#1. Wear it!! Besides the skinny jean idea, how about pairing it with a pencil skirt (denim or tweed? but really anything except for velvet or corduroy) and fine gauge sweater or knit top, with either a scarf or eye-catching necklace? Enjoy it!

I'd say to return #2.

I love teal so I'm bias but it really does look good on you. The green just disappears.

Keep number one- that is a great fitting classic jacket you can wear for years even if you are not feeling it right now- I can see it unbuttoned over a dark colored dress with tights and boots.... I can see it with bootcut jeans, a button up shirt, and scarf... I can see it with skinny jeans, a button up shirt, and riding boots! Definite keeper. Return #2 it doesn't work and is similar but not as good as #1!

#1 absolutely. The photo is a little overexposed, so I'm guessing it's a midtone teal...a very useful color! Throw on a scarf and skinnies and you're good to go.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the styling ideas. The funny thing is, my DH thought the second jacket was too short, and I thought he was silly. But some of you agree with him! He feels pretty smart right now.
