Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

What to wear for...a canine retirement party! :)

Yes, you read that right, my friends and I have decided to throw McClure a retirement party! He deserves it, afterall, and we wanted an occasion to indulge our goofy sides. :) It's being held at my apartment and will basically be just a laid-back cocktail format (tons and tons of finger food that we're making ourselves plus cake for both humans and dogs).
I've gotten on top of the cooking and the setup, and now need to focus on my wardrobe.

This is by no means a formal event, but I want to look good seeing as I'm hosting. Would it be too much to wear one of my day dresses? Something like the black and white or the multi-coloured sleeveless one? The pics are in here somewhere, probably near the beginning

If you think a dress is too much, I'm open to suggestions.

Oh, how sweet! Doggie retirement :)

A day dress, dressed up with fun accessories and shoes, would be perfect. Not too formal at all!

I second the day dress, I love the turquoise printed with the leggings- do you know which one I mean? It has short sleeves and a kind of geometric print. I love the necklace you wore with that! What a fun idea to have the party!!

I really like the dress you have entitled "black and white with colourful necklace"

I have tears in my eyes. BEAUTIFUL. You ROCK, Michelle. And so does the man of the moment McClure.

I fourth the day dress with sandals and a colorful necklace. I also love the leggings outfit. Either option will be perfect. Have a splendid bash! Wish I could be there to celebrate your woofer’s glory with you.

I also agree that wearing the day dress would be totally appropriate! Very classy of you. I'm sure McClure will greatly appreciate you dressing up in his honor!

Thanks gals. Dress with colourful jewelry it is. I was initially thinking of pairing the black and white dress with a red necklace and red sandals, but now think I'll go for a multi-coloured necklace instead. Should I go for more neutral shoes or stick with red?

I'll be sure to share all the fun details tomorrow! I may even get a shot of Woofer devouring his own cake purchased from a bakery that specializes in pet treats. :)
