What Shoes to Wear With This Dress?

Hello, I have a classic teal wrap dress that I would like to wear with a leather nude peep toe wedge. The wedge is somewhat dressy. I also what to wear nude hosiery. I know that it's fine to wear hose with open-toe shoes but not sure if these open toe wedges necessarily go with the dress. Any thoughts on what color or style of shoe would look nice with hose and this dress appreciated. I would like to avoid black. Although, I love the look of sheer black hose with black shoes. I am not sure if this would go with this dress.

I'm 5'10" and have an hourglass figure. I live in a warm climate, but it is winter here in North America. I am guessing the temperature will be in the sixties. The function is next week and somewhat dressy (no denim permitted) but is not a formal event, more like dressy casual.

I should also mention that the shoes are kid leather and not patent. Thank you very much for any suggestions.

I think the wedges and dress go well together. The colors and styles seem complementary. Maybe you could add some gold or colorful jewelry or a scarf if you felt you needed to. Do you think you will need a topper? Are you concerned about the temperature?

Thanks for the reply. I am somewhat concerned about temperature, but event will be indoors. I very much would like to accessorize but am not good at it. I think gold and or/colorful sounds great.

I'm gonna be a naysayer and say I wouldn't wear sheer nude hose with a peep-toe shoe. Colored tights, okay. Nude fishnets, maybe. But not sheer nude hose.

I think almost any color shoe would be great with that dress. Maybe a bright in a contrasting color?

Yes, I am somewhat hesitant to wear nude hose with this shoe. The last time I wore hose was when I was married 15 years ago. I do want to wear hose to this event because I have some imperfections/veins I would like to camouflage. Maybe a suede pump in a berry color would work? I have been thinking suede might look nice with this deep teal.

I think that would be lovely!

Given the dress's hem, I say that those peep-toe wedge worn with the dress would look good on a younger person. But it might be too much for someone over 40. It really depends on how the dress drapes on you, though... but I would wear it either with booties as shown in the picture, or with knee high boots, or with a lower heel sandal.

Thanks Kris, love the idea of a sandal but not sure if appropriate for weather. Love the bootie but I have a thicker calf and would like to elognate leg. I am 41.

I too don't care for hose with a peep toe. I think the berry pump sounds lovely with the teal. Or a metallic, either bronze or pewter.

I think the shoes you showed can work with the dress, too, in a more classical way. They are in a neutral color and I think they would lengthen the leg line.
It may not be a popular opinion but I do like them with the dress.

I'm not a fan of hose and peep toes either, but people do wear them. The only thing I would be worried about with the nude pump is whether its color is too warm to work with the dress. There are a lot of shades of nude out there! I think that if the nude looks OK color-wise with the dress, it should be OK, and even leg lengthening. But I do like the idea of metallics too, especially silver.

So true about the nude potentially being too warm. Pewter or silver are great suggestions. I will try to model dress with different shoes and get a vote. Thank you so much for your suggestions and advice!

Maybe a shade of purple or berry for the shoe(if you are wanting color and not just a neutral) - for some contrast and color- paired with jewelry to echo your shoe color. I have a pair of purple, burgundy navy suede boots that I wear with teal and a pair of plum pumps that surprisingly go with more than I thought they would and never fail to receive compliments.

Gorgeous dress!! I love the nude, patent wedges you have pictured with this dress! If you really want to wear hosiery, like others, I would choose a closed to wedge or pump. But keep the nude shoe colour- the wrap dress with nude heel combo is very Kate Middleton-esque!

Thanks for the replies, ladell and fuzzylogic. I have a couple shoes to try with this dress (a dark pink/berry pump and a nude pump). I will try to get my act together and post pictures for a vote.
