That's easy, my pearl colour puffer with faux fur trimmed hood. It was my main Christmas present and I only got to wear it twice last winter as it was so mild in the UK.

My down parka. I tried a number of coats, and this one was very flattering to a pear. Also my Ecco Rise boots. I'll need to add a custom find; I saw them on a friend last fall and had to have them. They had been re-designed that year and the current ones did not fit the calf as well; they also had three buckles instead of one. I really lucked out and found a pair of the earlier model on eBay for less than half price. Mine are black smooth leather; these are the same ones in brown suede. They are lined in GoreTex, so they also handle wet days with aplomb.

Since I've grown to dislike summer, I started the fall fashion season a bit early. Like a few months ago. Plus my office is as cold as an igloo during the summer months with incessant AC, so I have no choice but to layer up, and have been wearing scarves all year round.

That being said, I did only just a couple of weeks ago break out my "official" sweater box. This time last year I was just beginning my transition into really defining my style, so I'm already eyeing several of them with disdain. Ombre brown short sleeve sweater with the weird cowl neck that never stays where it's supposed to? Begone. Green ribbed bodycon off the shoulder sweater that was too tight even before I gained 20 lbs? You're outta here. BUT.... that black v-neck sweater with a matching v-back, sparkly metallic thread woven subtly throughout, long sleeves, perfect hem length that just covers my bum so I can wear with stretchy, forgiving leggings... can't WAIT to wear that!! Particularly with the 2 pairs of faux leather pants I didn't have this time last year.

I'm excited to wear my swan sweatercoat from Anthro, which was out of my budget until it went on sale and then magically popped back in just my (petite!) size.

I also have a luxe alpaca J.Crew sweater that I would love to wear, but it probably won't get out of my closet until the December holidays when I visit Montana. It is REALLY warm despite having 3/4 sleeves, too warm for California winters. (I also have some long-sleeve cashmere sweaters that are similarly too warm for my climate now, but they're basics that I will hang onto for winter vacations in colder places.)

BOOTS!! Wearing boots is almost the only thing I enjoy about the cold weather. I am wearing a pair of dark plum boots today and enjoying them. I wore a pair of tall SE boots yesterday and welcomed my old friends back from the depths of the closet.

LOL, Suz! I can wear sandals for 9 months of the year, and I'm more sensitive to cold because of being acclimatized to heat. I'm looking forward to parka and boots because that means it finally won't be hot any more!

A mild cool front is blowing in today, finally. It was only 75F(24C) at 1 PM instead of 89F like it was yesterday at the same time. (!) And early Saturday morning we're supposed to get down to 55F. It hasn't been that cold since May, and THAT was the record-setting single wettest month we've ever had.

Once the rain stopped, it got hot and stayed hot, gradually cooling (from 98 to 92, whee) through September because of less daylight. So yes, I'm excited to wear a parka. :p (And I'll stop talking about the weather now. I actually find it fascinating, if no one can tell...)
