Ooooh. LOVE the scarf!! My sympathies, on your coat quest. I am warm-blooded, and I had a great coat, sort of a lightweight rain coat deal, which I wore to death. I finally convinced myself to part with it, this fall. And then, wouldn't you know, I have not been able to find anything at all that really replaces it. It was NOT fancy -- I actually think I found it at a WalMart. It might not have been the most fashionable of coats. But for our often damp, not often very cold clime (Washington, DC area), it was pretty perfect. It had a hood, which could be detached. I could get caught in a sudden downpour and pop that hood up and be dry. It was about below-hip length, and had a drawcord in the waist. You might think that it was a long ski jacket, only it wasn't, because it was lined only in fleece. (I think it was touted as reversible, but I never wore the fleece side out).
I have quite a coat collection, so, it isn't really a tragedy not to have this in it. It's just that when a sweater isn't enough, and a heavy coat is way too warm, now I have .... nothing. Well, I've been getting by layering a puffer vest over things. I'll get used to it! And Spring is nearly here now, anyway!
Gosh, this makes me sound astonishingly pragmatic about fashion. And I really am not! Well, I mean, not radically!
