My package arrived today and I spent a little time experimenting.
The blouse is a new thing for me. The bow-tie portion actually was meant to tie higher than the picture on the website showed. So the only way it looked OK was tied higher. If I tied it looser, then it looked weird. So with my short neck, it did not look good at all. But overall, I liked the piece. The fabric is micro-striped and has a very subtle metallic thread which I actually did not mind. If not for the height of the tie, I would like this shirt. But it needs to go back. I'm glad I tried the style and I think I will continue to search for one that has the tie positioned lower. It may be hard to find since I want one in cotton/machine wash fabric. This one was close but not close enough. The hunt continues.
The dress is a disaster on me although I love the gray cotton fabric. The style is very wrappy...there is a wrap at the front AND the back. THere is a LOT of fabric in this piece and the over-all look is very toga. And they provide a cotton slip liner which is necessary for this piece. However, the liner is also cotton so there was some places where the outter dress got caught up on the liner. So even in the 5 minutes I was wearing it, I spent most of that 5 minutes fussing with the position of the fabric...both keeping the wrap parts in position and keeping the dress from riding up the liner. This one is going back as well.
The sweater is great. I ordered a medium but they sent a large. But it fit great. I tried it on with the above blouse and it did look pretty good so the sweater is a nice layering piece. I also tried it on with my basic button up shirt and it looked perfect. I seem to have good luck with anything I get from BR.
I tried taking pictures but I had trouble with the flash. I will experiment some more but for now, a narrative will have to do!
