What Color Shoes with this Dress?

I just received this dress and plan to wear it in the summer to a niece's wedding. It is a very comfortable and flattering dress I must say - looks better IRL. My DH will be wearing a charcoal pin-striped suit.

I'm not sure what color shoes I should choose. The dress is actually pretty sparkly with lots of little beads attached all other. It has layers of the lacy material and a built in slip.

I have to buy shoes as I just don't have any dressy ones right now so I'm open on color.

Any suggestions?

Ceit!! You just suggested fuschia to me with grey and cream, and as soon as I saw this dress, I thought "that would look great with fuschia pumps".

Apparently I am very impressionable.

But for real, I bet that dress would look fantastic with a jewel toned shoe.

Gorgeous dress! So, so pretty! Do you have a party to attend this season, too? Seems a shame to wait until the summer to wear it! Though I guess you might need a topper with it now.

I LOVE the idea of fuchsia shoes with this! But of course black or ink blue or red or burgundy would also work well.

Fuchsia could be fun - the wedding colors are pink and gold though - still okay? And then what color bag?

Suz, I may have a special event coming up in January to wear it - but of course then I would have to figure out a topper as you said. It's a light weight dress.

I love this dress! Very pretty. It's difficult to think of a shoe color that it wouldn't go with.

I'd love to have this dress in my closet, in any of the color options.

You could wear this with almost any color shoe. You could go bold with hot pink, fuschia, or purple, or go for a more subdued look and wear a silver or nude shoe. Since you will be wearing this in the summer, I would wear strappy sandals.

That is a GORGEOUS dress!!! So elegant and I love the color. I had a silver/gray dress I wore to a wedding a few years ago and wore a lemon yellow color, just a thought.

Ooh - it would look great with yellow or citron in summer...or white, for that matter! SO many options!!

I wouldn't worry about interfering with the wedding by wearing fuchsia, though....not if it is just your footwear. It seems like s sweet tribute, in a way. Or at least that is how I would take it.

For winter, I don't think you can go wrong with any jewel tone or black.

I think you have lots of options. Metallic silver sandals, fuschia as suggested already, yellow, orange or coral, green??

Well, if you're buying new shoes, maybe you should consider what else you'll be wearing them with... This dress has colours that would work with so many --- gold, silver, bronze, pale blue or ink, grey, fuchsia, green, coral, red, purple, nude... What would work best for your other dressy garments? Or translate best to your everyday life when the party's over?

Manidipa is on the right track! If you need to buy dressy shoes, you want to make sure they're going to work with any other cocktail-type events in the future. I adore the idea of a color, but you could also do a nude. Since this is a summer wedding, I wouldn't do a super dark like ink or burgundy.

It does look great with a lot of shoe colors as it is a neutral, you can choose silver, cobalt blue, ink blue, nude, red!

Wow - Thanks to everyone for some really great suggestions! And Carole, what a lovely dress you posted - and the yellow/citron shoes do look great with it!

Suz - I think maybe you are right, if I choose fuschia it could be a nice little gesture to the bride.

I have been thinking a bit about what else I would wear the shoes with, since I so rarely have dressy events (like maybe once a year) I need to make sure whatever I choose can be used a little less formal. I do really love the idea of fuschia or citron strappy sandals. And either of those could also be worn with white jeans in spring, etc.

I may need to wait until after the holidays to find strappy sandals but I'm going to start looking now just in case as I hate last minute shopping.

Edit: I found these as a possible option. I'd like to look more for a colorful option but I wanted something to fall back on and aerosoles have worked for me before so I'm trying them in both the gray and silver.
