Wedding shoe question and denim pencil K/R

I'm going to one of my high school best friend's wedding on Saturday and I need a little bit of shoe help. The dress is a black and navy Ann Taylor dress. Unfortunately, I realized the only black shoes I have are peeptoe heels and a pair of sandals. Sometimes, though, you have to work with you have on hand. A link to the dress is below. I didn't get the petite, though.

Pics 5 and 6 are the denim pencil I ordered from Tommy Hilfiger. I like that it doesn't have the button and fly front and I feel like it's what I'm looking for. What do y'all think? Below is a link to the skirt.

I also have another quick question about what my boyfriend should wear. The wedding is at 5. Should he wear a suit or a blazer and khakis?

BF needs to wear a suit

I can't see the skirt all that well, but I think it has potential.

Fab frock! How open are you to getting a pair of shoes that make this outfit pop? And how will you cover up?

I really like the dress! Of the footwear shown here, #3/4 looks best to me. But something punchier, say a bright color or snakeskin or metallic, would really be lovely.

Thanks ladies. If time wasn't a factor, I'd be looking for a different pair of shoes. The wedding is the day after tomorrow and my schedule before then is jam packed. I thought ahead on the dress, but somehow managed to forget about shoes until now. I'll be wearing my black fitted leather jacket with it and carrying a small navy clutch.

And thanks for the advice about what my BF should wear. He was asking me today and I wasn't sure. I knew the knit shirt and khakis he suggested were a no-go.

Beautiful dress, and I like the 2nd pair of shoes the best. I can't really see the skirt from the pictures, but I looks great on the website, Yay!

Ah. I'm with the lasses. Then the second pair of shoes is best. Have fun at the wedding!

I think the dress is lovely! The shoes will work fine (3/4) but agree if you can snatch some time to find a pop of colour shoe, you'll be happy you did!

It is tough to see the skirt's details from the pics but based on the link, it looks like it will be a workhorse.
