K/R: Wearing my jammies in public? Angie's inspiration outfit.

About a month ago Angie posted a great outfit on a mannequin at Nordstrom, and I loved it. I have a bright yellow jacket, and thought I might be able to duplicate it if I could find some cool slouchy pants. The pants in the picture are by Theory, and $275, so more than I wanted to pay for a trendy look.

But recently I saw these Vince Camuto pants on sale for a fraction of the price, so I decided to try them.

Does this work, or does it look too much like pajamas on me? (particularly without a jacket?)
I'm wishing I had some really fierce Jonesy-esque sandals to wear with it, but these are the fiercest ones I own.

This totally works! I love the yellow with the black and white pants! Nice sandals! I think it looks fine without the jacket too--maybe you can add a chunky necklace to make it look even less like pajamas (not that it does).

WOW. I think it's a good interpretation of Angie's picture and I love the color combo. I don't think the pants look like PJ's, but you do look comfy.

I think it looks great and I second GP's chunky necklace (or scarf) suggestion, especially if you want to dress it up a bit. And I can see it with black patent heels and a gorgeous necklace if you want to kick it up a few notches.

This outfit is super cute and wearable. I have a bright yellow,jacket that I wear with a white tee and white jeans and tan platforms. I think I need some dark print jeans now. You look great in that outfit.

Great look! I like both tops with these pants - such a great, drapey fit on that Lush tee! Gorgeous sandals for these pants, too - just the right amount of added height.

I really like the pants, Parsley, and they don't look a bit like P.Js. What is the fabric?
It looks heavier than a P.J. material would be, and the cut is slimmer.
Pic #4 is my favourite, and I would love to see the jacket paired with a white blouse or dressy T. as in Pic 1. too.

I really like them. Are you able to roll or hike them up like the mannequin? That would look cool in the summer. I can't like that tuxedo jacket any more than I do. It's so awesome.

Love! If you had a matching blouse then perhaps they would look like pj's but they certainly dont give of that vibe. Great styling...keep!

I love your interpretation Marcy! Not like PJ's at all. I love that the T is woven; I'm sure that adds an extra bit of polish. BTW with your gorgeous hair and make-up, no one would ever think you were in your pajamas.

Sounds like maybe I should keep them- If I have the nerve to wear them, that is...

Lyn, the fabric is a fairly light and drapey polyester and spandex. The Theory ones are silk and spandex (sigh!)

I think the thing that makes them feel like PJs is that they are pretty slouchy and baggy. I thought about sizing down, but I think these fit the way they were intended to.

Jeanne, I'll have to try them scrunched up or rolled, although I think I prefer them down.

LOVE how you re-interpreted the look! The pants are fab and yes please scrunch your sleeves.

Interesting: it never occurred to me to scrunch the sleeves on a "nice" blazer, even though I almost always do with my denim jackets and casual ones.

I do see now that the mannequin's sleeves are scrunched, and it does add to the more relaxed and casual feel.
