Velvet leggings - yay or nay?

I'm thinking these would be a fun and warm alternative to skinnies in winter, but are they too 90s? I remember wearing them back then, from the Limited or Express...

Oh my...just the sound of them makes me eager.

I have a creamy white Siamese cat, however.

Having said that, I will still try them anyway, and use the lint roller regularly!

I like them on the model, but then her legs are so slim they look more like cigarette pants on her. I think if they were skin tight like most leggings I wouldn't be as into it.

Those look soooo comfy and a step above regular 'ol cotton stretch leggings. I'd buy them and wear them constantly - just perfect for sweaters and tunics.

7 1/4" rise?! That is ridic. I wore these in the 90's too, and some version comes out every year around xmas time. If you are committed to velvet pants, I would hold out for a pair that is cut for adults.

Una, I have a pair of black velvet leggings. Bought them about 2 years ago and I love them. I wear them in winter often with a black satin tunic. I love the contrast of fabrics. I have had a number of women stop me when I'm out to comment and ask where I got them....its a definite yes from me

Rita, I'm not considering these specifically, just posting to give people an idea of what I mean by velvet leggings.

I agree lint could be an issue, but it's an issue with almost everything I wear!

Well, they do look like skinnies on the model because they aren't stuck to her ankles...and she doesn't have her bum covered. I'd have to see them IRL. After I got out of knit maternity pants I swore I'd never leave the house in pants that didn't button and zip. Ooops, I forgot about my yoga pants...but they're just for exercising....right?

A bit foppish in some "Tom Jones" way, perhaps? (the movie, not the singer) I'm thinking with clunky boots and an Allsaints type tunic or oversized sweater, they might be cozy-MOTG, but I could be wrong, as I often am!
