V-Neck Challenge (finally) - MNSara

You all have been so inspiring with your great v-necks! I had accepted the v-neck challenge, but just kept soaking up your ideas. So I finally got some pics for your comments and suggestions.

First, I'll show you my one remaining pre-YLF v-neck. It has officially been demoted to sweatshirt status but I don't even choose when I'm in comfy mode (big hint to get rid of it completely?) I posed to show its full glory:

With a lot of help and inspiration from YLF, with a new YLFish v-neck, please comment and suggest away:

1. basic look with pearls

4. back to basic look with scarf instead with some new NYDJ in grey. I LOVE their fit and their $7.50 price tag at Nord Rack (worn for two days now with no bagging) I know other don't like NYDJ name, but NYDJ seems to like my body shape!

5. This one is my tribute to my new button-down muse, queenie. Featuring my new, yet unworn, white button down. (Oh my gosh, I have never put so much effort into adjusting the layers, collars, cuffs. It was a workout! Effortless style?)

6. Are these PPL for the flats I have on? They are also NYDJ (!), again NYDJ really seems to like my body shape. . .for $16 at the Nord Rack I had to give them a go.

7. I love these jeans/pants with their zipped ankles. They are definitely snug and I don't plan to wear them with my entire rump exposed. Heck, I don't even like my entire thigh exposed in knit pants, but I took liberties for the button-down pic. So with a tunic or short dress can I, at 51 years old, pull this off with grace? If you think so, then are these shoes okay? What other kinds of footwear would work?

OOOOO Sara, I love these! The moto jacket, zipped pants, pearls...I see Angie's influence on you! They look great on you. Please keep the Kut jeans. They look awesome. I also love your attention to detail. I never really think about how my collar layers over my jacket.

I am no expert on age appropriateness as it isn't an issue for me just yet...but I think you can wear the zippered ankles pants if you keep the outfit sophisticated.

If NYDJ works for you, then by all means wear them. *I* don't like the name because they make me VERY aware that I am not their target demographic.

Yes, getting the buttondown situated is quite the ordeal isn't it? But the look is worth it! That is a great look on you. I'm constantly amazed at the difference it makes.

I am 52 and I would wear those cute zipper jeans. I think if flats are your usuual footwear then go with that otherwise a small heel or open toe pump would be cute too. Nice Loot:)

Both moto jackets are fabulous!! Did the burnished one come from Coldwater Creek?
What is it about the Kut for Kloth jeans that you're hesitating about? Looks good to me!
I've been looking for some grey jeans, so I'm going to have to check my NR for that brand. I already own one pair of NYDJ and I like them as well.
I'm still a novice about PPL, so I'll leave that one to the experts.
Just wanted to say it looks like you got some successful finds and nicely styled on the different looks for the challenge!

Hey, queenie - so your effortlessly stylish button down outfits REALLY were labor intensive too? Who knew! It does add a crispness that is (probably) worth it!

taylor - thanks for your comments and the zipper legs vote. I'll look over my shoes and try some little heels! It will make me long for spring too. . .

Thanks, AJ - on the CITRON sweater I love the color and can't be more pleased that it is having its day again. The burnished moto is Guess, from Macy's. A couple weeks ago it suddenly dropped to 80% off and I figured I can get my money's worth out of it!

Maya - Sorry I missed your post before. But you noticed! I felt very Angie-like when holding my bag for the photo and I think you're on the right track with not letting my other pieces look too youthful when wearing the zipped pants.

I think I will keep the Kuts, but its those darn NYDJ that come up high enough in the back AND front that I feel really 'secure' (that's actually the word one of the denim lines uses!).

Wow! Great job. #5 made my heart race. The collar/cuff primping was totally worth the extra effort. I really like your handbag, too.

Sara- be sure to grab the bottom of the sleeves with your fingers before you put the sweater on over the button down- atleast then you dont' have to go fishing for the sleeves. but no, it's not effortless;-) altleast you get your workout in though- so after you get yourself all together you can go reward yourself with chocolate!

and your pants look to me the perfect length.... AND I love the zippered jeans on you! wear them with sass and feel like a million bucks.

Hmm, I know how it is to have jeans that look nice but feel off. Do you think you would be conscious of them all day or need to constantly adjust them? If so, then maybe return.

#7 You have a fabulous figure, so I wouldn't worry about wearing close-fitting things at all. This isn't a style I've tried. I guess I would picture pants like this ending just below the ankle, but I don't really know.

All in all, you have here a whole week's worth of fabulous outfits. How great is that?
