Hi all!
Sorry I haven't been around lately! It is the end of the semester and I have many papers to grade, articles to finish and reports to complete. I won't be around for a while but I wanted to check in with you. I didn't get a chance to photograph my outfits, either. Here is the only three that I was able to photograph recently:

This is my conference presentation outfit. The colors in this picture are a bit off. The vest is charcoal and the skirt is black with pinstripes.
I am actually posting this as a possible example of an authoritative scarf. Scarf itself is very whimsical but I think wearing it as a tie with a waistcoat completely transformed it.

Another vest outfit. I really like the versatility of this little thing!:) This is an example of a cloth flower pinned to vest.

My favorite of the three outfits is the second - I love the blue and the flower on the vest. Trendy, but kind of classic.

The travelling scarf series is fu. I follow Kimberly's blog as well so saw your outfit there. It is amazing how many different looks there have been!

Love your conference outfit, the third outfit you posted (GREAT color combos!), and the travelling scarf project. How cool. Maybe we should try something like this on YLF...

I didn't comment on Kimberly's blog, but I loved seeing your Traveling Scarf outfit posted a few days ago. You played up the colors in the scarf so well and in an unusual way (focusing on the subtle light blue hues.) I love your eye for color.

I also love how you made the F21 vest look so smart and expensive. The turquoise outfit is especially great!

My favourite is the waistcoat with the bright blue shirt and the flower pin, but - of course - all three outfits are gorgeous.

Great to see your outfits, I cannot pick a favorite. I love the drama of the first one and love the turquoise cardigan with the skirt.

I love your outfits! That turquoise combo is amazing!

I recently posted my attempt at a vest/waistcoat look, with very positive feedback. Like you, I purchased my vest at F21 in black. I love it, and it was a great way to test drive the look without a huge investment. I am convinced that it's all in the mix.

haven't read the rest of the comments, but umm hello? you ROCK a waistcoat like no other. i'm still sort of afraid to attempt wearing one o_O. your conference look just SCREAMS sassy, and the traveling scarf just should not leave you. it looks too perfect around your neck.

niva- you are welcome to copy any of my outfits. I think this is what this forum is for: to exchange ideas! So go ahead and don't forget to post a picture.

Jean - I love my F21 Vest. I would definitely recommend checking out F21. They have many many vests in different styles and they are all over the store (at least in my store). So make sure to walk around the store, grab the vests that catch your eye and try them on. Also as Angie would say, they are selling them for a song, so it is a great way to try this trend without a big investment.

hanna - definitely try on a vest, they are so versatile! As I said above, check out F21, they have many styles and they are super inexpensive.
