Uh oh! Red wine stain on leather

We had a bonfire at the beach last Friday. It was dark and my son bumped into the flimsy camp table. In the process he spilled some wine on my beloved yellow bag. (and candle wax on my pants.) It is real leather so I don't know what works really with wine stain on it. (This one: http://www.legacyofpearl.com/M.....ag-7286361 )

I remember Angie telling me to bring my white leather bag to Nordstrom for standard cleaning. Should I do the same for a wine stain? I almost tried Mr. Clean on it this morning, but decided to ask first.

Oh, LOP. I'm sorry about that. Have you tried salt? By all means get to Nordies.

I haven't tried anything on it yet. Should I rub the salt with a napkin? It is quite a few spots and some are on the medium side.

The problem is I haven't noticed the spill and let it dry on the bag. Candle wax stole the attention at the time of the event. I used other bags last weekend so I haven't seen it until Monday when I picked up the bag to wear.

You can get the candle wax off the pants by using a warm iron and covering your pants with a paper towel , pass the warm iron over the pants until the paper towel absorbs the melted wax.

Where did you buy the bag? I would try to call them and seek advice. Sorry about your bag. I squirted liquid make-up on my favorite silk sweater last month and can't get it out. I feel your pain (even though your bag was more expensive).

Thanks Taylor! Hubby also came up with that idea. I was able to get the candle wax off with the method you suggested after getting the bulk of the wax with a plastic spatula. It works like charm!

Melllls: The bag is a gift, but I think it was from Macy's. I'll double check where it was from. I wonder if Macy's has a service like Nordstrom.

Maybe call the manufacturer then? They'll know their product best.

Mix together salt, club soda and warm water and rub gently with a napkin. It should lift out some of the stains by absorbing them.
