I was assessing my winter footwear during some recent chilly weather and this is what I have:
1. Knee-High Black Boots with a Thicker Heel and Buckles
2. Slouchy mid-calf Pull On Boots with a Cone Heel
3. Flat Timberland Winter Boots (These are Gear)
4. High Heeled Jessica Simpson Minas Ankle Booties (Orphans)
The two knee high boots both work well under trousers for work or over skinnies/tights with skirts. They are both a little on the casual side, but I just brave the cold a bit for dress up occasions.
The hole I found (made up?) was a pair of flat boots that I could wear with my dress pants hemmed for flats, and maybe over skinnies and with skirts and tights sometimes as well. I decided on a moto/engineer style ankle boot and purchased
Pic 1: Earth Origins Leather Booties in black: sturdy, ridiculously comfortable and I like the buckle and zipper details
I had previously fallen in love with ...
Pic 2: Shoemint Abigail in Black Suede: Were out of stock in my size when I bought the Earth Origins, but then they were back and I ordered them because I had a coupon for 50% off and apparently very little willpower.
So here's the question: Assuming the Abigails fit well and I am happy with them, should I return the Earth Origins? Do you think there is room for two pairs of flat, black ankle booties in one woman's closet? Which do you like better?
