If I see another adult colouring book.........

I sell them in a few of the book lines I represent. Airport have entire kiosks of them now. I wince at the sight of them.

So funny Lisa! I'm new to it and am finding it very therapeutic:). The market does seem saturated tho. They are everywhere!

Lots of people love them! I've tried getting my DD interested, as she's a good amateur artist, but ....no.

My boss gave me one for Christmas - haven't started doing any colouring yet!

Viva I was thinking about starting a thread on Suits. I've been watching it with DH on Netflix. I think I'm on season 3, but I'm pretty slow, because 45 minutes of TV while sitting down is apt to put me to sleep, so I don't watch shows that long all that often.

Anyway I've noted that Jessica Pearson (played by Gina Torres) has some body type similarities with me so I've been keeping a close eye on her clothes! Pity they are so high end and thus hard to emulate.

Like some others I also enjoy Downton Abbey.

I loved the Gilmour Girls, but for the dialogue, not for the fashion -possibly because I watched it on DVD afterwards. Seemed a bit dated at that point.

Most of my other TV watching isn't fashion related. I watch How I met your mother while washing up (ideal length of time, though I sometimes get in 2 episodes before I'm finished) Masterchef Australia and am quite fond of some of the comedies on ABC in Australia, like Gruen Transfer, The checkout, Would I like to you, QI.

Not a big TV watcher, but most days I watch something. I don't turn it on til the kids are in bed (except to watch the Simpsons sometimes to chaperone DD12) so that doesn't leave much time at the end of the day.

Oh Samantha on Bewitched is my all time fave!

Another vote for Michonne in the Walking Dead. Also Carol. She wears a lot of Free People stuff. It's comforting to know that fashion survives the apocalypse.

Abbey Mills on Sleepy Hollow and Zed from Constantine for pre-apocolyptic moto and sporty luxe. Michonne from Walking Dead for low contrast looks. Carole from Walking Dead takes the prize though, for using wardrobe as camouflage. Both to free the group from Terminus and for Alexandria's stepford Carole. Hedev said she's scary at that. Deb, I'm and unashamed Dead lover. I think that the costuming dept should at least win some awards for the work they do on the zombies.

Michonne wears a very stylish Missoni-ish headband. And her sword is an unbeatable accessory. Literally.

Latest I loved Robin Wright's wardrobe in the House of Cards! And, I have had recently the opportunity to follow a few korean series, which took my breath away(both regarding the actor's and the stylist's performances).

Zoe, I'm with you on MTM as Laura Petrie. She could wear anything and make it look amazing. I also amuse myself by imagining what the colors actually were. Same for I Love Lucy, actually.

Heart of Dixie is so much fun....the clothes, makeup, hair! Wow! Not just Rachel Bilsons character but the other women too. Nashville makes me want to dress like a country western singer and I don't really care for country! Currently I find Jennifer Lopez in Shades of Blue to wear some cute outfits with tennis shoes.

I can't believe no one mentioned "Orange is the New Black!"

It was Lucy Liu's character on Elementary that finally got me to embrace the more relaxed/oversized trend, along with booties with dresses. I have no idea what it was about her character but I loved the way she looked and the way the clothes moved with her. I made a wholesale change to the way that I had been dressing and completely overhauled (and am overhauling) my wardrobe. Love that show, and it was (fashion wise) exactly what I needed to push me over to a new way to dress. It has, unfortunately, cost me a lot--but I'm loving my new style. And all from a TV show. I think I was ready when her character appeared.

Felicity Smoak on Arrow, Iris West and Caitlin Snow on The Flash, Gemma Simmons on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, also Regina Mills, Belle French and Emma Swan on Once Upon a Time. Basically if it's girly, sassy, sexy and I can kick booty while wearing it, I want it.

Ooh what a fun thread. I love TV!! Love Robin Wright on HoC, Zooey Deschanel is fun in the New Girl, the Good Wife a few seasons ago, Olivia Pope, early friends Monica and late friends Rachel, and Scully from the X-files. Charlotte from SatC. The earrings Emily Deschanel wears on Bones. Viola Davis on htgawm. Molly from Mike and Molly. And 90210 for another 90s throwback. Ok stopping now!

I'll have to say Agent Carter right now. Love those 40s fashions.I'm going through a retro / vintage-y stage (again).

Okay now I have about 20 new shows to watch!!! And clearly I need to do some reruns of Bewitched and Dick Van Dyke.

So nice to know I am not the only one watching what women wear on television .... please post if you spot a new show with good threads.

I don't watch much tv because I tend to read and get my clothes fix from pinterest .When I go and stay at my mum's she is always watching murder mysteries. I like the blonde lady from the British drama 'new tricks" . I know Amanda Redman is the actress. I like her business bombshell look and also when she wears black leather. I know the actress has a scar but she doesn't hide it and will wear sleeveless dresses etc. I think that is good positive body image.

I also like Meryl Streep's outfit in "its complicated" and Diane Keeton's clothes in a lot of her recent movies. I like the way they are older but still dress in a funky way with great personal style.

Just thought of another! Jane Bingum from Drop Dead Diva. Very bubbly and sassy, colorful and fun and oh so professional. X3

I watch a lot of TV. It relaxes me and makes me very, very happy.

I cannot for the life of me think of any particular TV fashion inspirations. It is not that I don't have them, I think I am just too tired to effectively connect the dots. Still I enjoyed reading other poster's thoughts.

Did anyone used to watch Ghost Whisperer? I luuuuuuved the clothes she wore, I tuned in just for that! I love how the clothes are super feminine and pretty, and there are no accessories, no earrings, no bracelets, it's stunning.

I like Lucy Liu in Elementary too, great stuff.

I like some of

Kristen Taekman's outfits from RHoNY and I love Heather Thomson's style and hair.

She's not on tv but I'm always watching to see what Olivia Palermo is wearing. She's so fab.

I have to disagree about The Good Wife. I love the show but boy do they look awful in their clothes! Alicia is getting better as the seasons evolve and I admit Diane looks amazing but Archie Panjabi's character for me is the absolute worst dressed character on television. It's the same outfit episode after episode. short skirt, pantyhose, leather jacket and boots and always the same gosh darn hairstyle. If the character has enough time to plaster on so much makeup for sure she has a moment to let down her hair. Sorry, it strikes a nerve lol.

So many great ideas on this thread! Deborah, I pinned some of Gillian Anderson's looks from "The Fall." It's just arriving in the US now!

I loved the Costuming for River Song in the newest Doctor Who Christmas Special (except for the last dress, which was disappointing). I'm also a fan of several films: Carole Lombard in "My Man Godfrey," and the whole cast in "The Philadelphia Story"

OK I found some pictures to go with the characters whose style I like. Looking at them, I realise I need to buy more black clothes.
Last photo is a neat quote from Diane Keaton.

I rarely get a chance to watch much unanimated tv and recently it's been Homeland which is not fashion inspirational, but I enjoy the show a lot.
If you like Madmen fashion, I recommend Masters of Sex. Fab retro looks. I can't decide whether I prefer Virginia's or Libby's style, but they are so fun to watch.
I'm often horrified with what the female hosts wear on Access Hollywood. I guess it's attention grabbing, but yikes it's dinnertime for us.

Just remembered another! Gotham! Gaaaah Fishy Mooney is like if Art Deco and Noir had a kickbutt baby.

Kristen has a very vintage sweetness to her look

....yes I have a thing for superhero shows.

I don't have a TV right now, but I used to like to watch Ugly Betty, both because I could empathize with Betty's style issues and also because I loved to watch how they would dress Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams). I think it was the first time I realized and really believed that certain styles flattered a curvy body type. Granted, those outfits were completely over the top, but still. The idea of it.

That's why I love Drop Dead Diva! It's about this bitty cute model who dies and through a string of events ends up in curvigorgeous Jane's body with Jane's super genius lawyer brain. And the outfits Jane Wears are to die for! x,x

What a fun thread, Viv, and high five, I find watching tele very relaxing too.

I've seen a lot of the TV shows mentioned and enjoyed the fashion on many of them (and found a few more I definitely want to check out now;-)

I just started watching Magic City, a show about a Miami hotel owner who gets mixed in with some mobsters in the late 1950s. The fashion, architecture, interiors, colours... are all so spot on. Lots of eye candy.

Glad to find another MTM fan. And I'm with you on Lucy, too. Really, any 50s, 60s woman in cigarette pants is a role model for me, so Samantha from Bewitched is in, too.
