Couldn't resist, had to post these piccies before going to bed!! These shots include both the purple leather moto jacket and a plaid tunic dress that I bought in Toronto.

First the dress. It was from some random store that I don't even know the name of. Very cheap (~CA$30), plaid, cotton and lovely colours (purple, black, grey). I was sold on that criteria, but worried about the pencil skirt as that is not a shape I normally wear. However I think the ruffle detail around the neck, empire band and faux-belting helps to draw attention from my (lack of) waist. What do you think? I just love how comfortable it is. I wore it today with leggings and a pair of flats and didn't feel self-conscious at all.

Then the jacket. I got it from Darnier, in Eaton Mall in Toronto. Amazing store with a great range of jackets!! The purple colour caught my eye straight away, despite the red jackets further back in the store (amazing I know given my penchant for red!!!) I am still a bit worried it is too long, but the shoulders and sleeves fit great. Given that I will be wearing it to zip around on my Vespa, extra length is only going to mean added warmth, so that won't be all bad!!

It is obviously tight when I zip it up, but the sales assistants have assured me it will stretch out a size. The size up felt too big and hung off my shoulders so I hope they are right. I also like the way it kicks out at the bottom when unzipped - kind of makes me look like I actually have a waist!!! The lining really sold me though - a silverly grey herringbone pattern. I am a sucker for beautiful lining!!!

So does it pass ylf muster???? I truly hope so, as returning it from Australia is not an option Plus I love it anyway.

I do have 2 big questions though. Firstly leather care. The sales assistant said not to treat it with the same leather protector that you use for shoes as that will have too much silicone in it. However the can of spray I have at home for leather and suede protection says it is suitable for garment care. Should I risk it?? Otherwise I have no idea how to protect it. There aren't many (any?) leather stores around here.

Second question is regarding pairing this jacket with my new silver doc boots. I don't have dainty feet or a small waist, so I worry that I will look too masculine if I pair them together, even with a dress underneath. I realise I should take a piccie, to fully answer this, but I didn't think of it earlier today. Should I stick to one or the other at a time do you think?

All thoughts appreciated!!

p.s. sorry for the blurry photos and wet hair!!!!
