I committed to giving seldom worn summer items one last chance before summer is officially over. So I gave this top one last go. I've worn it only twice, and both times it felt off to me.

I really loved it when I bought it - I loved the volume, the neckline, the color, the detailing on the sleeves.... when I bought it, it was much longer than this, but as I wrote on Maya's bittersweet laundry thread, I recently shrank it - deliberately. Because even if it was a good length (covered my butt) it was just way too big up top.

DD14 just took a few quick shots; she and her friend both agreed it HAS TO GO. They confirmed - in much nicer words - that it is truly atrocious on me.

The sleeves make me look like a linebacker.

Oh and yeah, those shorts? They really aren't that bad... but now you can see why I never tuck in my tops.

Shiny you are so cute. It's really not THAT bad, however you have many things that suit you better. This reminds me of a few tops in my closet that are pretty on the hanger, and I paid good money for them, but they don't do a thing for me, yet I can't quite get them out of here.
By the way you have very pretty arms and legs.

I'd like to see the top with a pair of skinnies, before you get rid of it.

Off topic, but does DH usually take your pictures? I guess he's a lot taller than DD, but when DD does it you look much taller! Funny.

As for the top, I don't think it's atrocious. It obviously doesn't give you much shape, but it's not supposed to. Have you tried i out with different bottoms? I think it might look cute with skinnies or bootcuts. How about trying it under a jacket? I guess it's not that practical if you have to wear it with a jacket all the time, but I think it has potential even without a jacket.

Shiny, it does not look awful at all in my opinion. It's just less fitted then most of your tops that show off your pretty shape. I agree that it's worth a try with skinnies or clamdiggers.

I don't think it will work with skinnies. The length is off - will hit me in the wrong place.

And, I can't wear a jacket or cardi over it because of the sleeves - leaves weird lumps.

Shiny, I'd still like to see it with some skinnies. Not leggings or really tight skinnies, but a pair of dark wash straight jeans....and maybe some boots.

It sounds like you've made up your mind about the top Shiny. I'm with Nicole. I think it's worth seeing with some other possibilities. After all it couldn't hurt to just try. If you still hate it, at least you know you gave it all you got.

Okay, I'll promise try...

I want to take some shots of the new NL blouse and jacket too. Maybe I can find some time this weekend to play around in the closet...
