Tieks, yay or nay?

Has anyone tried Tieks? I love the color choices. However, the price tag is way out of my teacher pay scale (NC teacher at that). However, if they are as comfortable as the ads say they are, I may splurge. Thoughts?

I have a pair and they are certainly comfortable. I bought them for a wedding because I liked the idea of folding the shoes and putting them in my bag for later in the evening.

That said, they are comfortable but not the *most* comfy pairs of shoes I've worn. (My Nike Free 5.0 Flyknits (Wide!!) are the best, hands down.)

And, they are expensive for a ballet flat, as you say.

I have other ballet flats that are almost as comfortable. I bet if I added a cushiony insole, they would approach the comfort of my tieks, easily.

But it's true, the color choices are beautiful and I do love the blue soles. It really is a beautifully designed shoe. If a particular color really speaks to you, you could always try it out. It looks like they do accept returns.

I've never had them on my feet. They look very unsupportive though.

I own a pair. They have held up extremely well, and offer a cushy bottom. They are my go-to black flats when I have to wear them, and when I know that some degree of walking will be required. They're great for wide feet, but lack any arch support. Your heels would slip out if you wore inserts.

Having said all that: I still recommend them. I own another pair of black flats with *amazing* arch support, and super soft and stretchy leather, but weirdly, those end up inflicting more pain after a few hours of wear than the Tieks.

ETA my foot creds: severe bunions, collapsed arches, severe overpronation, low volume.

I like the idea of stashable flats... Tieks are new to me, but they look stashable. Normally tho I find the elastic pinches my feet.
