Third piece, which topper?

I'm going to town to pick up my sewing machine. A wonderful small sewing machine shop also repair old ones for a *very* decent price. I'm taking DS2 and DS3 with me.

#2 is what I'm wearing today.
White textured blouse
Houndstooth wool skirt, cream/black
Textured burgundy tights
Black shoes

StyleFrans style direction post got me thinking about the impact of the third piece. It really changes the vibe of an outfit, and can also pull it together. Today I need a topper to keep warm. Which one?

Shearling vest: boho, maximal?
Lavender long cardi: lighter, modern classic?
Wool jacket: my «tailored cardi»?

I prefer the shearling vest with the outfit. The proportions of the vest work best with the skirt IMHO. I also like the play of textures that the vest gives. The vest is a nice juxtaposition to the slightly classic look of your outfit.

I am actually drawn to the lavender sweater although maybe with something at the neck, scarf or necklace

The shearling vest is the 'coolest' look to me, but maybe not the 'warmest' choice of the three, if that is the number one concern?

Thank you all! I went with the vest, but only until I tried my Zara coat on. It was too bulky and I realized my arms l lacked warmth. Even with thermals and handknit wool mitten I would be freezing. Then I tried to layer the vest over a puffer (see pic), but it just looked weird, not like Joy's cool redention. Anyway, in the end I changed to a white cashmere sweater. We had a great day at town.

This whole process made me realize that my shoulders and arms are happiest when I keep them toasted and that's easier to achieve with not too chunky or bulky layers. That's why this vest is not getting used that often.

I loved the vest combo, yoo and I ALSO havd the same problem eith vests and warmth if they'rd gof colc weather.
I almost havd to wear items a seaso warmer- so that vest gif example, id have to do in just cool fall or the oddly warmer days here and there in winter.
Your skirt is s great classic though do it might be worthwhile to have several warm longsleeved tops that go with it.

unfrumped: we just have to work around our bodies and preferances and you are so right that very specific seasonal wearing is the way to go. I think this will help me to get more wears of the vest because I'll be more "mindful" about how and when to wear it.

The vest would have been my choice too. You look so cute in it. I always look funny in furry vests. Maybe because my shoulders really slope.

The third one will definitely suit your beauty. On such a fine figure that dress will definitely be going to stop hearts of many bachelors.
