Thinking about updating my watch

My current watch is this one http://www.amazon.de/Skagen-Da.....38;sr=1-12, only with a light blue mother of pearl clock face instead of white. Very slim and delicate, like you can see in pic #1. I've had it since 2004 and wore it everyday - I'm Team Watch, I need to wear one. I really like it but I think it's time for a bit of a change.

I'm not really sure what to look for though. I know that many prefer oversized watches, I'm just not sure if I would be comfortable with so 'much' watch after wearing this delicate one all the time.

I have a Skagen very similar to yours!! I really like the Fossil watches you showed better than the Swatch ones. I have a peugeot white ceramic one I bought recently and a seiko multitone gold watch. Both have oversize faces and I adore them.

Meredith, that's funny! When I bought the Skagen watch they weren't that well known yet. I remember that they didn't have them at all in south Germany, but only where we were on holiday (near Denmark). I guess the Swatch styles would be totally different in comparison to my current watch style. Maybe they are too edgy to work for me? I definitely don't want anything with gold, I don't wear gold at all.

I bought my hubby a Fossil watch in 1992 and it just died last month!

I got mine I believe 4 years ago at Macy's. I fell in love with the black face and the distinctive metal mesh of the band. I had never even heard of the brand before but I immediately looked them up. I'll take a picture of mine and post it right now. Also I have included my other two so you can see the scale difference in the faces. My other two definitely are large bold faces.

Wow, Shannon, that's really a long time! If my new one would last that long it'll be definitely worth the money.

The metal mesh of my current watch is very comfortable to wear, I'm not sure how I feel about changing to a leather band like with the first Fossil watch I posted.

I have a Skagen watch, too! But I can totally see you in an oversized watch. I like the fossil ones. Have you looked at the Tokyo Bay watches? I could see you in one of those, too.

Thanks for the link, Sarah! I didn't know that brand at all, but some of these look great. Although I'm going back to the Fossil ones too. I think this will be a tough decision.

I think you should look at the oversized if you already have a basic"dress" watch. I've recently expanded my watch collection and it can be fun. For reference I have (picture 1) a silver mesh Skagen (about 5 years old and love it - just replaced the band), but it feels a bit delicate after I wear my new Michael Kors tortoise watch and new FOssil resin (I couldn't hold out for ceramic prices to drop) For fun I found a Timex with a big face and narrow band and found a bunch of Jcrew changeable bands for it for summer. My next purchase is either a colorful ceramic or a Horn watch.

Thanks for posting a picture of your collection, Jjsloane! I can imagine that the Skagen watch feels delicate after wearing the other two. I like your plans for adding another one.

It's definitely versatile with the silver and I really like the classic look, but it's a bit more dressy than the third Fossil watch I linked to. Maybe this one would be a nice alternative to the ones with the leather band I linked to first. These are all oversized btw.
