The Gap mushroom sweater, at home and Suz-esque

This arrived while I was at lunch. I loved the fit in the store, but am wondering now if I should have sized down. I expect it will shrink and I don't mind oversized, as long as it's JFE. I feel like Suz in the taupe and white combo!

Any thoughts on color and fit now that I'm in my home environment? (Suz, you definitely need XS!)

Ha!! Una, I got mine today. And I am sending it back. I just don't like it on me. And I find the cotton heavy and know it will stretch out. Plus -- Mr. Suz did not like the colour!! (Gasp!!)

I like it...it looks cozy and calming. I'm not sure on the difference between fluid and oversized. It does look big on you, but not in any bad way. Wow, that's helpful...sorry!! I do like it.

I feel as if it is just a touch too long. But wouldn't look that way with less contrast, perhaps. But I do like the oversize fit. I liked that on me, too -- and I have a high tolerance for oversize.

I think I am "once bitten twice shy" when it comes to GAP cotton. I had the mesh sleeved sweater a few years ago and it continually stretched out on me and I ended up hating the feel of the fabric. So I may be a bit over-shy of this.

Una, be sure to check front, back, and side. Sometimes the front can look okay, but if too big the size and back can look HUGE. (She says sadly, as she prepares to return a heavily discounted sweater where she failed to order two sizes so of course the size she *never* wears is long sold out. I had to agree with DH that too big means I look a good ten pounds heavier.)

Looks good from the front, and I think you're better off with it slightly big instead of slightly small. I like the oversized fit right now.
And omigosh- those white jeans are great on you!

Oh, and this is very odd....I am sure lots of your other sweaters are the same length as this. And I love all of those. It is something about the weight of the sweater and hence the way it hangs vs. drapes -- and the very rectangular bottom.

But this could be an issue all of my own making, based entirely on my past GAP experience! I love this colour with the white jeans. And I would have worn exactly that outfit if I kept the sweater!

I feel bad saying it, but I don't love this on you. I cannot quite put my finger on it, but I do think it may be too long. It lacks edge, which I view as a major part of your style. Slinking away now...

Okay - princess oversized checking in. I love this on you! But I'm tunic girl. I'd love to see this with one of your twisted minis, tights and fab rate booties. I'd wear it with the skirted leggings, I'd love to see it with your leather leggings. Also a long pendant or scarf works really well with this look. But I really embrace and love this style, I do realize that others may not (which is totally ok) but I think it looks awesome on you and I think the color is very flattering. PS if it came in black I would be all over it!! But it's a matter of taste and preference and only you can decide it you like it, but I've said it before, I think you carry off long looks with fab panache!! But only keep what speaks to your heart!!

You really look wonderful in this sweater...However, as gryffin,said, it must make your heart sing..I would be leery about it growing...I have a thing about over-sized..where you put them on one size and wake up and they are adolescents ready for college...if you get my point..smile..

Una - I'm not crazy about this on you either. It looks too baggy or heavy around the bottom. And if it stretched anymore... I think you should definitely try the smaller size.

Una, I am sorry -- I did not get a photo of this on me. Mr. Suz wanted to package up the returns and send them right away (he had some, too) -- so I just didn't get time to take the shot.

I think it's all a question of fabrication -- you could try the size down to compare proportions. I definitely agree with Gryffin that oversized is your look and you rock it!!

I see what many of you saw! No slinking away, Deb. I exchanged for an XS and will post a pic when it's lighter to see if that's any improvement. I do want a heavier sweater which is so hard to find in the right proportion.
