Hi Astrid --

Rachylou made me laugh so much but she did pretty much nail it.

It's weird because I love that style coat (hi, ethical version of the J Crew Lady Day), and grey, and tweed/texture but...because of the fit being too big + color + fabric it gave you a very waif-y/androgynous vibe and I thought you were looking to up the femininity right now.

[That's a lot more boring than Rachy's summation, ha!]

Good luck with the new order!

Thanks Vix. And yes, she's totally right. I definitely did expect to like it a lot more than I did when I put it on. I could appreciate a beautifully made piece of clothing, but the coat did absolutely nothing for me when I tried it on. And yes, I'm looking to up the femininity, although I'm not quite sure yet how that is supposed to look after implementation...

A -- whatever the implementation looks like, it will be a "know it when [you] see it" instinct that gets you there.

After all, it's a very subjective definition with many roads to get there!

Based on what you've shared (verbally and visually) of your style preferences in the past, I have a feeling it will involve lush fabric, print/pattern, and/or color...something close to your "roots" but evolved to match where you are today.

I suspect you're right. I'm definitely at a point where I'm pretty confident I can trust my gut feeling... And what you suspect sounds like a pretty good bet. I'm looking forward to finding out.
