Elizabeth's post about temp tattoos as part of the rocker chic look got me thinking. I know Sal at Already Pretty has a bunch of tattoos that are often visible in her pictures, and she even did a post about them: http://www.alreadypretty.com/2.....y-ink.html But I haven't seen many tattoos, or heard much about them, on YLF.

Do many of us have tattoos? Do some of us want tattoos? How do tattoos fit (or not) with your style? Do you see tattoos as a fashion statement? Do your tattoos influence your clothing choices?

I'll start. I have one tattoo on my right hip (in the front). I got it when I was 18, just a couple months after a close friend died - it's the tattoo he was going to get when he turned 18. The tattoo is very personal, and I chose a location for the tattoo where nobody sees it unless I want them to. I didn't really choose the design, but I also would have modified it if I thought it was hideous, so it kinda says something about my aesthetic preferences. It doesn't factor into my fashion decisions except when I'm swimsuit shopping. So far I've stuck to boy-short bikini bottoms and have a one piece that doesn't go too high on my hips. Very, very rarely I think to myself "hey, I can wear this edgy _____, I have a tattoo!"
