Talbots Fall 2010 LookBook: Stunning

Wow, I'm usually not that excited about Talbots but they had so many great jackets/coats. I especially loved the 1st green coat, the leather bomber is something that I need to check out, and I loved the sky blue coat on pg 40. Great colors and the styles seem fresh and young! I'm anxious to check these out in person, thanks for sharing!

Wow, April, thanks for posting this. I know Angie had a blog post about a year ago on how Talbots was trying to modernize their line, but I wasn't sure if it would stick. I have to say, I'm impressed! I saw so many things in there that tempt me. Some of the items reminded me of JCrew when they were at their best, before all the tissue thin slouchy fabrics and ruffles came to dominate their offerings. I will be taking a second look at Talbot's this fall!

Thanks for the link April. I'm absolutely loving the look on page 57, if I could lift the entire look, including the updo I would. The heather coloured accessories are also drool worthy.

I love leopard print clothing on a brunette, it has never looked quite right on my dirty blond hair but I could totally see Taylor in the leopard print sheath.

Wow, the last time I was in Talbot's was with my aunt 10 years ago and I wasn't interested in anything I looked at while waiting for her to try on clothes. From then on I just ignored Talbots. Maybe I'm just gettting older but their things don't look as stuffy as they used to look to me. I'm going to pay a visit.

The pants all give me heart failure but the other looks are fab for the right person (who is not me). I do like those laceless brogues though. This is modern classic done right.

You know, it doesn't look as amazing as the one from last year, but there still are some great things. The jewelry looks quite nice. I liked:

Skirt on p 3
Skirt on p 23
Lace skirt on p 26! I wanted to get one like this last year, but didn't.
I have a pair of shoes really similar to the Oxfords on p 53 - mine are gray patent, made by Matisse, I think Angie recommended them.

Hmmm. Apparently I'm obsessed with skirts.

This year, I WILL get the long gloves I have been pining for. The tweed skirt on page 15 has my name on it too. The wool jacket on page 50. All the jewelry. The boucle jacket on page 58.

I should probably be looking for a second job...

WOW, April A giant thank you!!! Fabulous clothes. Unfortunately NOTHING in that store ever fits me:( I am going to keep trying though!! Everything in there was gorgeous!!

I know, Taylor, that is a problem there. If you can wear a petite, they do have a size 0. Doesn't usually help enough with their pants, but jackets and shirts can work, as well as dresses.

Also necklaces and gloves.

Very nice. I don't think anything is screaming out at me, though. (although I do love the color of the green jacket on the first page). The gloves make me happy, though. I found a pair of long leather gloves and a garage sale for a buck about a month ago (I'd say they hit about mid-forearm) that actually fit my big man-hands. They're such soft leather that I just had to grab them even though they're chocolate brown and I really don't wear that very often. I had no idea what to do with them, nor if I'd just look plain ridiculous, but now I have ideas!

Well styled. This look book has hints of Mad Men and a touch of J Crew - a winning combination. I'll be interested to see the clothes up-close-and-personal to determine if it's all just about the great styling or if the items can stand on their own merit.
