I'm doing it that way too, Una. I started yesterday and am racking up the silhouettes and the photos. It's fun --- really forcing me to look closely at my closet. Love the idea, thank you!

I had eye surgery this morning so won't be posting outfits this week, I suspect. But will jump in as soon as I am able!

(I can see with my other eye today but will be operated on for that one later in the week.)

Ooh - I can't wait to see the results. I don't think I have 5 silhouette options in the winter, or I'd play too. Instead I'm going to watch yours for ideas - maybe I'll end up with more silhouettes than I think!

Following with great interest. Your epiphany on this topic has inspired me to switch out my routine a bit. For the past several days I've been wearing more traditional body con silhouettes, which is not daring at all where I live but it is refreshing for me as I was getting in an oversized top and sweater rut. So it's felt kind of new, for me.

Ooh looking forward to seeing your week, Una! Silhouette change is my number one thing to keep from feeling rutty. I would imagine it'd be a bit trickier if you're a uniform dresser; as you noted in your other post, you just need a few different uniforms! I do find that weather can really affect how successful I am at actually changing up silhouettes, though. Lots of rain/snow really tends to limit what we can do.

Aida has a really good point . Switching up a silhouette, intentionally or not (as in my case today) is a good way to shake things up. I got immersed in the "must have big fluid sweaters" dictum and have been adding several to my collection, all convinced that if I didn't , I'd look out of date. Well today, I really wanted to wear a favourite from two winters ago - that architectural side peplumy sweater of Alexander Wang's knocked off nicely by BCBG (so nicely I have two of them - lol) . It is ultra fitted, but oh so flattering. Yet I worried that I would be wearing something not YLF endorsed. Well, to heck with it. I wore it today and loved how I felt in it . And with slightly loose fitting skinny jeans to boot. Ha! I think I may participate in this exercise - it could be very helpful in getting some perspective. Which I lose pretty often here.....

Una, I love this challenge. I am trying to take part, although it is harder in cold weather. It is helping me look at what I have and the possibilities in a whole new way. Will post at the end of the week.

Wow, excited that others are participating! I've actually started keeping a little notebook of my thoughts this week, because all kinds of unexpected issues have come up. It's been eye-opening already. Will do a big old post on Friday with pictures and hope to see your results too.

I came up with 5 silhouettes for myself but that's not a requirement... I'm debating with myself whether skinnies/jacket, skinnies/slouchy cardi, and skinnies/tunic all count as part of the same formula.

I think I need to take a look at this challenge. I'm horribly silhouette-challenged, and I think I largely live in one or two primary silhouettes. Maybe looking at the challenge will inspire me to get out of my rut!

Suggestion for you Una. When you do 3-4 weeks of this, how about posting another type of summary post on top of week by week - how about silhouette by silhouette, so you can see variations of each one. When comparing similar things side by side, you may get even better clarity about what word and why. Or not.

Una, I'm having surgery this week so participation may be spotty but I plan to jump in, in earnest, as soon as I am able, and will keep notes as well. I also really like Ornella's twist on this -- to post similar silhouettes together after a month or so as well.
