Sundance capsule: feedback needed!

Okay, so here's the idea for the days at movies/casual dinner outfits.

Three bottoms: grey skinnies, leather skinnies, Gap BF jeans

Tops (all cashmere): POW sweater, citron Equipment sweater, chunky skull sweater, blue Joie tunic

Boots: consignment boots that go under skinnies, Gidigios, Kamiks (not shown)

The BFs would be worn with silver belt. They obviously don't work with the tunic but go with the three other sweaters. I am not sure how the sweaters look with the skinnies, especially the skull sweater, but I think the skull sweater works with the BFs. I am also showing an optional citron cashmere tunic with the leather skinnies, and that could also go with the grey skinnies. With the grey skinnies I'm showing one of each boot.

What works and what doesn't? Better combos? This is like an SAT question! I can bring a little more than I thought, as I am checking in my ski gear (I figure I can live without it for a day or two if it gets delayed, since the weekend is totally booked). So if you see a gaping hole, let me know.

The citron is not as blinding IRL! And excuse my face as I was getting more stressed as the battery on my camera ran out.

Okay. Just off the top of my head: Leather skinnies are awesome with everything, but I actually like them less with with the optional tunic sweater.

As you know I have a poison eye for skull motif, but I do really like the shape of the sweater with the BFs, so agree with you there. Also agree that I like it slightly less well with the skinnies, but I go back and forth on that, looking at the pics again. I DO like the POW sweater with the grey skinnies; also the citron sweater.

Both styles of boot work, I think, so if you have room to take them all, then enjoy the variety.

The dress looks fab -- can't wait to see it styled.

You are going to WOW and POW them!!

By the way, I got the Kamik New Yorks in Charcoal and they are going to be great! I couldn't go through this winter any more without proper snow boots apart from my gear ones. So thank you!

ETA, when I say "awesome" about the leather skinnies, I really mean AWESOME. They look so great on you.

Pow and Skull are fabulous! I prefer the shorter citron sweater. Leather skinnies are amazing. Dress looks great. I think you are set!

Yay! We are Kamik twins. You will not believe how warm and cozy they are.

Thanks for the feedback. Skull sweater still has tags and could still be returned. I really like how warm it is, but it may be too juvenile (despite the price tag) and also too chunky for my chunky upper half.

Interesting about the leather skinnies with tunic - I thought that helped make them less LEATHER THIGHS! - but will have to reconsider.

#8 is FIERCE. Seriously, you look so cool I can't even stand it. I love all the looks with the leather pants.

I like all of these, actually, but I'm kind of so bowled over by the fabness of the leather pants that the rest pales in comparison. ETA: my non-leather pants favorites are the citron sweater with the grey skinnies and the skull sweater with the BFs.

Will you need any lighter tops/things to layer under the sweaters that can be worn on their own if the venues are overheated or anything?

Diana, I have one other option to post, but the camera battery died. I was never hot at the venues last year, but it is a good question - the weather there is much warmer than it was last time.

I'm glad you like the leather skinnies, because they are actually amazingly comfortable and warm, and don't get to play enough!

I was also going to ask Diana's question -- if you might need something to layer under in case it is colder (a cami or some tops) or some stand-alone tops in case it's too warm for cashmere.

And yeah....just wear the leather pants non stop.

I love the skull sweater with the BFs, and the POW sweater with the tall boots. I honestly don't love the boots worn under the skinnies with anything. To me they kinda look like black suede merrell mocs with the toe caps, but that could be the perspective from the photos. Unless it is really warm and melty in PC, the snow should be a whole lot drier than you are used to. I like the dress! I think the styling on the citron sweater and blue tunic could use a little love.

Thanks Elly. These actually don't have toe caps - I will post a link so you can see the boots better. I do need jewelry with these looks. Can you suggest some styling ideas for the citron sweater and blue tunic?

I agree with Diana - they are all good but #8 is A-mazing. The leather pants look great with all the tops.

#8 took my breath away. Literally.What an AWESOME outfit. I like the leather skinnies with other tops as well but with this blue tunic? Perfection!
However I have to agree with Suz that leather skinnies are less fab with the citron tunic.

I like everything with the gray skinnies, and I like the tall boots best with them, though the others are great, too.
I'm with Diana--just blown away by outfit #8. You look so cool in those leather skinnies. They are great with the other sweaters, too. Like others I'm less a fan of the longer citron, but it may just be the over-brightness of the color. It seems less edgy than your other looks, though.
I like the BF jeans with each of the sweaters you've shown here.
Dress is very cool, too.

Love all the iterations with the grey skinnies and black leather jeans, especially 1-2-3 and 8-9-10. Less crazy about the bf jeans unless you roll them for more intentionality.

Ah! You are totally right about the boots-- it is the reflection! -- still they almost seem heavy but not interesting-- but without the "toe caps" I like them much better. What about a vest with the citron and the black leather pants? Maybe oversized distressed denim, military, something? Something to break up the neon colorblocking. I like that blue tunic with a scarf on you.

Those leather skinnies seriously ROCK on you. So flat out amazing. Wear them. Every. Single. Day. And the Gidigios too! (Love them with the Joie sweater and the POW sweater especially.) For me they'd all be my dream/fantasy wardrobe, but for you they get to live a real-life fantasy week! Thanks for letting all of us live vicariously through you!

Elly, I don't own a citron snakeskin sweater (but I wish I did!).... I have a blue one but I wore it last year.

I also have a black version of the blue tunic but that would be too much black with the black leather. I have a long grey military cardigan sweater. And I could try to substitute a t-shirt and jacket (Lanai? Helmut Lang?) for one of the sweater options.

Or I could just wear the leather skinnies night and day and pretend I'm a rock star.

I'm a little more lukewarm about the BF outfits and the skull sweater; the sweater is one of those things that I think I ought to like more than I do--if that makes any sense.

Have to agree with others - the leather skinnies look amazing, and this is the perfect occasion to wear something edgy like that. Great sweaters, too! Honestly, I like all of these combos.

Ok I feel I need a third pair of bottoms, at least for the long plane flight. The BFs look silly rolled with these boots, and ankle boots are out.

So what is a good third bottom? Just blue denim skinnies? I was hoping for one non-skinny silhouette.

Also waffling now on the skull sweater which may be too bulky and not versatile enough in my closet.

Yeesh. Fun to think about but making me crazy! All the feedback is so helpful...

I don't mean to be 'overly agreeable' (if that makes sense?) but I really love EVERYTHING you've put together. I definitely think we have similar tastes I think your choices for bottoms are perfect and the skull sweater and BOTH citron sweaters are A-MAZING! I actually prefer the longer of the two citron; neon is so versatile!

Have a wonderful trip and try not to stress TOO much; you'll look great no matter what you choose!

Thanks Kelly and LoveSarahDub! The citron sweaters are not nearly this bright in real life... I am not sure why they look so neon here.

I may do some rethinking of some outfits - I only have 6 days but there are at least three events each day (screening, dinner, party). Rough life, eh?

My faves with skinnies + short sweaters all utilize the Gidigios for lower half balance.

I do love the slim short sweater half tucked with BFs and booties in #6. I think because the cut of the sweater narrows the top half while the BFs widen the bottom half. (since you said you are waffling, I sort of agree that the skull sweater is pretty bulky)

Sidebar: Are you going to be warm enough with just a sweater and pants?? No toppers needed?

Rae, there will be a big old puffer over everything! And Cuddleduds underneath. Although the temps are similar to here and drier...

Thanks for your input - very helpful especially as to why you see what you do... I realized the BFs are newly washed and fit more closely than they will once worn around.

Gah in #8 you better be ready to sign autographs!!! I love every iteration to be honest, although those leather skinnies steal the show, and I think with one of your slouchy beanies on top the skull sweater would be really fun. Although of course if it doesn't fit into your wardrobe, no point in keeping it. I prefer the shorter citron sweater, but not by a lot.

If you were mainly including the bf jeans for a different silhouette, what about your skirt in this post ? It might be too fussy, or you might have to pack too much extra stuff, but I can see it going beautifully with your sweater choices (except for the tunic maybe).

ETA: Oh I just saw at the top that this was for your casual looks! So ignore that skirt suggestion if it's not casual enough.
