So interesting to see these ideas! Definitely saving for a bit cooler weather (95 degree weather really doesn't lend itself to copying anything of much interest).
I had to google Sharon Den Adel -- she's quite a bit more goth-y than I have ever been, but I can see elements of her style working for me. Ditto to Stevie Nicks, but substituting boho for goth.
Angie, it is so interesting to read that about drawing a style line between me and AW. I will have to take a closer look at her style and seek out more examples.
I kinda see what you mean, though. Joan Jett and Chrissie Hynde, at first glance, seem to be natural inspirations for me, but if I try to copy those kinds of looks too faithfully, it doesn't feel genuine. You're right that I'm not terribly RATE (a little goes a long way for me), and something about me requires a bit of polish and refinement. I never think of myself as dainty or graceful but it's so funny you say that because my husband says similar things (coming from a boisterous man nearly a foot taller than me, I understand it a bit more!). My mom was definitely more dainty and demure, so maybe I have more of her than I realized.
