I ordered the Sole Society Tamra in Adobe and loved them. They were elegant and comfy. I treated them with spray stuff as I treat all my suede shoes. The only trouble was that the first day they got an inch long gray smudge on the top of one shoe. I was able to mostly remove it with a suede brush and suede eraser and tried not to let it bother me. But then I got a tiny sticky black dot that smudged a little (no clue what it was). Unsightly.

I just took it to the cobbler and he said the shoe needs to be shampooed for $30. I have never heard of this process. The cost is almost half the price of the shoe. Plus I have now learned that pale suede is a stain magnet, and my best guess is that I'll have another problem the first day I wear them after their shampoo.

Does anyone know what suede shampoo is? Is there a DIY version? Have any of you had bad luck with pale colors of suede?

Thanks!

eta: followed Angie's advice and purchased a Magic Eraser (my first one). Look at the results! Before (2) and After (3)!
