straightened hair?

I am experimenting with my hair. I blew it straight and wondered what you thought. I know that many of you opt for shorter hair styles but that is not being considered. I do not look or feel right with short hair although I love it on others. I am, however interested in new ways to style or cut more layers into this length. I have it trimmed often.
Also. I wore this tunic in a new way, any thoughts always appreciated.
Thanks!!!

You look so beautiful GG. I love your hair and your outfit!

I love this whole outfit. The scarf, the bag, the tunic and layering. SO elegant. And your hair really tops it all off. I liked your hair as is but this has a nice sleekness and sophistication to it. You honestly look like a model in all your pictures!

Love the hair - it looks very sleek and polished. It does look more conventional, but I don't mean it as a negative thing :) (Note to self - I really need to figure out how to do it to my own hair).
The outfit is awesome - great layering and the scarf is a knockout.

Love the whole thing. I really like your hair straight, just for a change. Have you ever tried straightening it with an iron? You could get some more layers toward your face to frame it a little more, but I agree that the length is better on your than short hair would be.

I love your hair straightened as much as I love it with your natural texture. It's fun to do something new once in a while, and straightened hair looks very chic. :) I've found that I like to use my hair to enforce my style - long and loose for a summery casual outfit, a low ponytail for a professional business outfit, straight and sleek for a night out.

What do you think of your newly straightened hair? Did it hold throughout the day?

I love the tunic! It looks great with the leggings and scarf! Very polished and confident!

Your hair is so beautiful- straight or otherwise. I do think some long layers would be nice, but looks fine as is.

I love everything about your outfit- the tunic, the shirt, leggings, scarf, shoes. Fantastic!

Hair and outfit...on a scale 1-10...............20!!!:)

KILLER. My word. In EVERY respect. LOVE the clutch. Straight hair looks really pretty too. You are one in a million, Jean. Your style blows me away.

(please post this outfit on the leggings thread too).

I loved! I know that it must be difficult to straight your hair because it seems that you have a very strong hair, but it looks great!!!

The word is sultry...

(Any advice on straightening for those rare times when I might have the patience to attempt it? I suspect that your fabulous and cooperative hair does not require nuclear power and hazmat substances as mine would, but would still love any tips...)

I love your hair, Jean. I also agree with you on the length- if I had that fabulous colour, I'd want as much of it as possible!

I like your fringe, but feel that a slightly longer, side-swept one might be a nice change, too. Combined with a few more face-framing layers, but leaving the length pretty much as is, it would look lovely on you. My layers used to be like that and they worked equally well whether I wore my hair curly or straight.

Gorgeous. GORGEOUS. You have fabulous hair, in color and texture and length; I envy your ability to style it so many ways!

With your height, build, face shape, and hair type, I agree you look best with long hair. I do like it straightened for a change of pace, and it works with this outfit, which is so sophisticated!

I would recommend giving a flat iron a try. A good one is expensive, so have your hairdresser flat iron it next time to see if you like the effect first before you invest. The plus with a flat iron is that it will keep your hair straight and smooth and shiny longer - possibly all day - even in high humidity like we've been having.

As for layers, I would try adding angled, LONG layers to the hair - starting below the chin. My DD16 and DD14 both have this cut right now. But neither of them have any bangs at moment. Here is a pic of DD14 so you can visualize - but her face shape is very different than yours. This cut will work with your face shape, because DD16's face is very similar to yours:

Here's a pic of DD16 with long fringe and an angled cut:

... pink tips optional. :-)

I don't know how you feel about straight-across bangs, but with your forehead you could definitely pull them off! DD16 had them awhile back and I adored the look on her. Here's a pic (with her hair pulled back in a pony):

Works great with specs!

Jean, it looks beautiful. Definitely worth doing for a change. I can't really imagine you with short hair. I love the outfit too.

Thanks everyone, such encouragement!!
April, I just bought a great hairdryer. I borrowed my sister's when we were away together recently and it made a big difference. Apparently her stylist convinced her to buy the kind that they use at her salon. It is called Turbo Twin ionic and ceramic edition.
It is much faster and seems to do a better job.
Thanks for the pictures Shiny, great food for thought

Wow! You look incredible, Jean. I'm loving the clutch and the overall color scheme.

Jean, you look absolutely gorgeous!! You always are :-) I love your hair - straight and wavy!

(Plagiarizing Angie here:) you lucky fish, you look fantastic with both straight and wavy hair!! Maybe it's the colour of the top and the animal print scarf, but the colour of your hair looks even more fab now!

And I love everything about your outfit! (what a beautiful tunic).

Fabulous! You look great!

Isn't it fun to have straight hair once in a while? It feels so polished. When mine was longer, whenever I wore it straightened I loved to do that move where you "flip" it over the shoulder.

Talk about va-va-vooM!!! It's greta that you can mix up your look and have it curly or straight and have it amazing both ways!!
