Starting Shoptember in Vancouver Recs?

Planning on breaking my shopping fast in Vancouver, BC this Labor Day and was wondering if any BC fabbers or Angie have recommendations for favorite downtown boutiques? Promise to post any findings

Ack! So jealous! I'll be watching to see the cool places to shop there. I've done mostly touristy things. Granville Island is fun; definitely a place to check out for food and arts.

We're staying in ultra hip Yaletown so no shortage of great dining, distilleries, bars, clubs etc. but so far only a few boutiques sussed out.

Ack!! Granville Island!

Love Holt's. Also fun to shop on Main Street -- totally different vibe, of course.

Go to Gravity Pope for shoes.

Oh shame, I could have organized a little meet up if I had known! Try Robson Street for Aritzia, Club Monaco, Browns (great shoes) and definitely Holt Renfrew. Bluebird on Alberni Street is awesome. Yaletown has lots of one of a kind little boutiques and great restaurants.

Gravity Pope and Holt Renfrew. How amazing is that? Lots of little boutiques in different areas. Yaletown for sure.

If you like Smythe Holt Renfrew carries Smythe. At least they do in Toronto and Montreal. I have not looked in Vancouver recently.

I am not a Canadian and haven't spent any time up here since I was a toddler, so suffice to say I'm not familiar with your specific retailers. I don't plan on going to any of the retailers that we have in Seattle.

Not sure if you are still here but...
Some great local shops are: Plum (try the South Granville store) and Nicole Bridger(on west 4th, just down the street from Gravity Pope.) Wear Else, also on West 4th. Dianne's Lingerie on South Granville, Blushing - another local designer on Richard Street downtown. JC Studio at 164 W. 5th - not sure if they will be open because of the holiday weekend.

Prvovince Marinaside is a wonderful restaurant in the area where you are staying. Too, the Georgia Hotel has a beautiful courtyard area on the 4th floor but, you'll want some sunshine for that.

If you make it up to South Granville, do check out Lord's! It is one of the most creative shops in the area...

Couple more thoughts for you, I've just stuck to spots within walking distance of Yaletown. If you venture a little north to Gastown, still an easy walk, there is Kit and Ace (chip Wilson of Lululemon's wife and son's new venture), Dutil for jeans, Oak and Fort, The Block, Tody, and lots more little one of a kind boutiques. Fun exploring and lots of good new restaurants. Oh, and another Fluevog if you missed the original store on Granville. Sorry the weather isn't cooperating for you

You're in town, Anne?!! We should have organized a lil something!

All good suggestions. My pantaloon shorts are Nicole Bridger. She has cool stuff. South Granville (b/t Broadway & 16th) has some good shops. Main St has a lot of antiques & unusual boutiques, ie Front & Co. Gastown has some good stuff, Leone is high end designer between Gastown & by Canada Place. Oak & Fort is in Gastown (& other locations) and I LOVE it. There are quite a few Canadian designer shops down there.

Holt Renfrew is the big gun in town, of course. The Bay is our dept store like a cross between Macys & Nordstrom.

If you feel like lining up for ice cream Bella Gelateria is outstanding (downtown Cordova near convention centres).

Vij's Indian restaurant is fab (south Granville).

You are close to Ciopppino's which is hands down our fav Italian restaurant in the city. I also like Minami (Japanese) - try the Zen platter....mmmmm aburi sushi is yummmmm.

Aritzia is worth a pop in for sure. And hey, can you find a Danier??? Not sure if there is one in Pacific centre or maybe Robson St. I think Robson....

Oh of course, I forgot about Danier! There's one on Robson. And if you need workout gear, the new flagship Lululemon just opened yesterday on Robson and Burrard.
