The highlights look great. Thats why I did it. I had dark hair and was having to dye it so often. With fair hair i dont do the roots as it blends with my whites and I can go up to 9 weeks without doing anything to it professionally.

Looks terrific, Carter! I think the trick is to keep the highlights warm enough. I feel you on the roots. My "streak" is right in the center of my crown. I just keep parting my hair further and further to the left --- I don't have as many telltale silvers over there (yet).

Since I've getting ready to interview for jobs -- competing against new college graduates -- I won't be going natural anytime soon.

Very nice and natural looking, IMO.

I think it looks really, really good!

I think it looks great, carter, and softer and more flattering to your skin than the darker 'before' picture. I'm appreciating reading everyone's comments because my hairdresser convinced me a couple months ago to do something similar - highlights and lowlights only, no overall color - and so far it has made the demarcation of color less obvious and blends more with the gray I have. When I went back for the second round a couple of weeks ago we agreed to go even lighter for the summer and I feel like it might be a little too far - it's a nice brightening color but it obviously doesn't match my eyebrows and I suspect the growout will be more obvious. I've still got all-over color on the bottom half of my hair, so I guess I won't know until it all grows out and gets cut off whether the grey coverage/blending will be enough for me or not.
